JOB OVERVIEW

WHO WE ARE

MSET is a US marketing agency running paid lead generation for local service businesses. This role edits for MSET itself: our short-form content, our VSLs, our caption-heavy videos. The videos you cut carry real ad spend behind them, so they have to look and feel professional every single time. This is not a churn-out-clips content mill.

READ THIS FIRST

We are hiring a team member, not a gig worker. Someone we can rely on long term, who becomes part of how this agency operates and grows with it. The per-video pay is how we start, not what this is. And this is not a beginner role: if you are new to editing or new to motion graphics, do not apply. You will not pass the test and it will waste your time and ours.

One more thing. This post contains everything we require, and we do not take anyone seriously who applies without reading all of it. Your application will show us whether you did.

THE JOB

We send you raw talking-head footage plus a script or outline. You turn it into a finished Hormozi-style short: kinetic captions synced to the voice, motion graphics that punch the key moments, b-roll and zoom cuts that keep the pace moving, sound design that makes every graphic land. The edit's job is retention: a viewer who meant to scroll past is still watching 40 seconds later.

THE MOTION GRAPHICS BAR

This is the main thing we are hiring for, so here is exactly what we mean by high quality:

- Graphics that serve retention: keyword pops, animated emphasis, icons and visual callouts that hit exactly on the beat of the voice, not floating decoration.
- Clean, professional typography. Deliberate timing. Motion that looks designed, not dragged from a template pack.
- Restraint. The best Hormozi-style edits know when to let a sentence breathe. Wall-to-wall effects is a beginner tell.
- Hand-built work. We are not looking for someone who uses AI to generate these graphics. We can tell the difference, and so can the audience our ad spend is paying to reach. AI-generated graphic work in your portfolio or your test will not pass.

WHAT YOU MUST ALREADY KNOW

- Hooks. The first 2 seconds d ---------- the whole video: first frame, opening line on screen, pattern interrupt.
- Retention pacing. No dead air, cuts that ride the voiceover, energy that builds instead of flatlines.
- Muted-first editing. Most feeds autoplay silent. Captions and graphics have to carry the video with the sound off.
- Caption craft. Emphasis on the words that carry the point, not random highlighting.
- The Hormozi style specifically: you have studied it, you have cut in it, and you know why it holds attention.

DELIVERABLES AND STANDARDS

- 9:16 as the primary deliverable, other ratios when we ask.
- MP4, H.264, captions burned in.
- Music and sound effects only from sources you hold rights to. Watermarked or unlicensed audio is an automatic reject, no exceptions.
- One revision pass included per video. We send notes in a single batch, you apply them once, done.
- Edit in whatever software you want. We judge output, not tools.

NON-NEGOTIABLE REQUIREMENTS

- Real, provable experience editing short-form content with serious motion graphics work, for creators, agencies, or businesses that had money riding on the videos.
- A real portfolio we can open: a reel, a site, or an organized Drive folder of your work. No portfolio, no consideration.
- You can take raw footage plus an outline and come back with something excellent, without a call, without twenty questions.
- Reliable on deadlines, every single time. We run content calendars. A late video is a missed slot. One missed deadline without warning ends the engagement.
- Attention to detail, because a misspelled caption or an off-beat graphic reads amateur instantly.
- Responsive on WhatsApp or Messenger during agreed hours, with honest ETAs. "It will be late, here is when" is acceptable. Silence is not.
- You take notes without ego and apply them precisely.

DO NOT APPLY IF

- You are a beginner or still learning the basics. This is not a starter role.
- Your motion graphics come from AI generators or untouched template packs.
- You want a one-off gig instead of a seat on a team.
- You need every cut dictated to you.
- Your portfolio has no caption-heavy, graphics-driven work in it.
- You juggle so many clients that 48-hour turnarounds scare you.

BONUS POINTS

- You have cut for business, marketing, or money channels in the Hormozi and Iman Gadzhi lane.
- Your sound design game is strong: whooshes, hits, and risers that make graphics feel physical.
- You have seen the performance data on your own edits and changed how you cut because of it.

PAY AND GROWTH

$30 per finished video, and the rate is negotiable up on quality: show us you cut at the level we are looking for and we pay for it. Work comes in batches as we need it, not on a fixed schedule. The goal is one editor who owns the MSET look long term. Paid through Wise, on time, every time.

HOW TO APPLY

Reply with the word CUTS as your first line. Then: a link to your full portfolio (reel, site, or organized Drive folder), links to 3 shorts you personally edited with your strongest motion graphics work in them, and one sentence on which of the 3 you would redo today and why. We check applications against every instruction in this post, including ones not repeated in this section. Miss any of them and you get skipped unread.

NEXT STEP

Shortlisted editors get a paid $20 test edit: our footage, our outline, 48-hour turnaround. The test is the interview. Pass it and the real work starts.

ONE LAST THING

Put the word KEYFRAME in the title of your application. That is how we know you read the whole post. No KEYFRAME in the title, no reply.
