I'm a relationship therapist and content creator looking for a talented short-form video editor/content manager to work with me long-term.
Editing and storytelling are the most important parts of this role. I'm not looking for someone who simply adds captions and transitions. I need someone who can understand what I'm saying, identify the strongest idea, and turn raw footage into compelling content.
THE EDITING:
A big part of this role will be what I call “yap editing.” I may send you 3–5 minutes of unscripted talking-head footage with little direction. Your job is to find the best content inside it:
*Identify the strongest hook, even if it's buried halfway through the footage
*Cut filler, repetition and tangents
*Rearrange footage when needed to create a stronger story
*Build pacing and keep the viewer interested
*Add clean, modern captions
*Overlay relevant B-roll, photos, text, graphics, stickers, screenshots, etc. when they strengthen the point
*Edit for Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts
*Choose/create an aesthetic cover for each reel
*I want the editing to feel intentional and creative, not overproduced. Visuals should strengthen what I'm saying rather than distract from it*
ENGLISH COMPREHENSION IS VERY IMPORTANT
*My content is about relationships, psychology and human behavior, so understanding the meaning and nuance of what I'm saying is essential.
*You need to be able to listen to several minutes of unscripted footage and recognize:
-What's the actual point?
-What's the most interesting sentence?
-What can be used to hook in the viewer?
-What would make someone stop scrolling?
-What can we cut without losing the meaning?
*Excellent English comprehension is therefore a major requirement for this position*
CONTENT MANAGEMENT
I'm also looking for someone who can help me turn content creation into a consistent system.
*Use my library of photos/videos to create B-roll, carousels and other content
*Schedule and publish content across platforms using Metricool
*Maintain a content calendar
*Keep track of what's ready, what's scheduled and what we need next
*Proactively ask me for copy, footage, photos or anything else you need to keep content going
----- I actually want you to keep ME accountable. If you need copy from me by Tuesday to get Thursday's post out, ask me for it. If we're running low on videos, tell me it's time to film-----
----- I don't want to constantly create assignments for you. As we work together, I'd love for you to increasingly own the content workflow while I focus on creating-----
WHO I'M LOOKING FOR
*Excellent short-form video editing portfolio
*Strong understanding of hooks, storytelling, pacing and retention
*Excellent English comprehension
*Great visual taste and ability to adapt to a specific editing style
*Comfortable with Canva + video editing software
*Proactive, organized and dependable
*Comfortable using or learning Metricool
*Able to take feedback and refine an editing style until we nail it
*Interested in a long-term working relationship
-----Part-time: approximately 15–20 hours/week to start with opportunity to grow
-----Pay: $6–8 USD/hour depending on experience with opportunity for increased pay as role grows
TO APPLY PLEASE SEND:
*Your portfolio and 3 short-form videos you're most proud of
