JOB OVERVIEW

We are looking for a creative, dependable, and detail-oriented Short-Form Content Video Editor to produce engaging social media content for multiple client brands.

The primary focus of this role will be editing short-form videos for Instagram Reels, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn and other digital platforms. You will work with raw footage, photography, brand assets, scripts, and creative direction provided by our team.

The ideal candidate understands that effective short-form content requires more than quick cuts and trendy transitions. Every edit should have a clear purpose, capture attention early, represent the client’s brand, and keep viewers interested through the final frame.

Because you will work with multiple clients, you must be able to move between different industries, audiences, visual styles, and brand personalities without making every video feel the same.

Key Responsibilities
Short-Form Video Editing

-Edit short-form videos for Instagram Reels, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and other social platforms.
-Turn raw video clips, photographs, voiceovers, and brand assets into polished, professional content.
-Create strong opening hooks that capture attention within the first few seconds.
-Use thoughtful pacing, visual variety, storytelling, and pattern changes to maintain viewer interest.
-Add accurate captions, music, sound effects, transitions, graphics, logos, and calls to action when appropriate.
-Edit videos in vertical, square, or horizontal formats based on the platform and assignment.
-Select the strongest ---------- nts from longer footage and repurpose them into concise social content.
-Occasionally assist with longer-form videos, interviews, testimonials, presentations, or promotional content.
-Export videos using the correct dimensions, resolution, file format, and quality settings for each platform.

Brand and Creative Execution

-Follow creative briefs, scripts, examples, and brand guidelines carefully.
-Adapt editing styles to reflect the personality and audience of each client.
-Create polished and aspirational content for hospitality, restaurant and professional-service brands.
-Maintain consistency in typography, colors, logos, captions, tone, music, and visual treatments.
-Recommend creative approaches when raw footage is limited or an assignment could be made more engaging.
-Identify clips, visuals, or information that may be missing before beginning an edit.

Workflow and Production

-Manage several video assignments across different client accounts and deadlines.
-Review each assignment carefully before beginning work and ask questions when instructions are unclear.
-Maintain organized project files, source footage, music, graphics, working files, and final exports.
-Follow established file-naming, folder-management, and version-control procedures.
-Provide editable project files when requested.
-Track assignment status and communicate promptly if missing assets, technical issues, or unclear direction may affect a deadline.
-Submit work on time and allow appropriate time for internal review.
-Complete revisions accurately based on feedback from tea ---------- mbers or clients.
-Review every video before submission to catch spelling errors, caption mistakes, audio problems, awkward cuts, formatting issues, or incorrect brand elements.
-Maintain accurate daily timesheets by client and assignment.

What Success Looks Like

-Consistently deliver clean, engaging, brand-appropriate videos on schedule.
-Create content that feels specific to each client rather than relying on one editing style.
-Follow briefs and reference examples closely while still bringing creative ideas to the work.
-Catch small errors before a video reaches the internal review stage.
-Respond well to feedback and apply requested revisions accurately.
-Keep source files and final deliverables organized and easy for the team to locate.
-Communicate early when something is missing or a deadline may be at risk.
-Become a dependable creative resource the team can trust.

Required Skills and Experience

-Proven experience editing short-form content for social media.
-A portfolio that demonstrates strong pacing, storytelling, captions, sound design, and visual polish.
-Strong understanding of hooks, viewer retention, platform conventions, and current short-form editing styles.
-Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or comparable professional editing software.
-Experience adding captions, music, sound effects, graphics, transitions, and basic motion graphics.
-Ability to edit from scripts, creative briefs, storyboards, and reference videos.
-Ability to match different brand styles rather than applying the same template to every assignment.
-Strong attention to spelling, punctuation, timing, alignment, audio quality, and visual consistency.
-Ability to receive feedback professionally and complete revisions accurately.
-Dependable communication and the ability to meet agreed-upon deadlines.
-Sufficient written and spoken English to understand creative direction and communicate clearly with the team.
-Reliable computer equipment, video-editing software, high-speed internet, and a professional remote-work environment.

Helpful but Not Required

-Experience editing content for hotels, travel, hospitality, restaurants, or lifestyle brands.
-Experience creating videos for businesses and agencies rather than only personal creators.
-Familiarity with Adobe After Effects or another motion-graphics platform.
-Ability to create simple animated text, graphics, maps, icons, or logo treatments.
-Experience editing interviews, testimonials, podcasts, case studies, or longer-form videos.
-Basic photo editing, color correction, audio cleanup, or thumbnail design skills.
-Experience working remotely with a U.S.-based agency or client team.
-Understanding of copyright-safe music, stock footage, and licensed digital assets.

You do not need to be an expert in every editing platform or technique. You do need to be creative, organized, responsive, and willing to learn how to create content for different client brands.

Working Arrangement
-Independent contractor position.
-Approximately 20 hours per week.
-Compensation is $5 USD per hour.
-Consistent weekly availability and dependable communication are required.
-Some availability during U.S. Eastern Time business hours is preferred.
-Work will be assigned and reviewed through the team’s project management and communication systems.
-This is intended to be a long-term working relationship for the right person.
-Additional responsibilities or hours may become available over time based on performance, workload, and mutual fit.

How to Apply
Please include the following with your application:
-Your resume or a brief summary of your relevant experience.
-A link to your video-editing portfolio.
-At least three examples of short-form videos you personally edited.

We are looking for someone who wants to become a trusted, long-ter ---------- mber of our extended team. The right person will care about the details, respect each client’s brand, communicate reliably, and consistently turn raw materials into content worth watching.
