We are looking for a high-level Shopify builder to create a store designed to handle large-scale, single-quantity inventory synced across multiple marketplaces.
This is NOT a basic Shopify design role.
You will be building the foundation for a system that connects Amazon, eBay, and other marketplaces where each product has a quantity of 1 and must remain perfectly synced to avoid overselling.
---
**Scope of Work**
* Build a clean, high-converting Shopify storefront (theme selection + customization)
* Structure product pages for large catalog ingestion (thousands of SKUs)
* Import and organize existing Amazon inventory into Shopify
* Implement a system for ongoing product uploads
* Integrate Shopify with multi-channel inventory software (ex: Monsoon, Sellbrite, or similar)
* Ensure inventory syncing logic is properly configured (1 sale = removed everywhere)
* Set up collections, navigation, and search for large book catalog
* Optimize site speed and performance under large SKU load
* Ensure mobile-first usability
---
**Key Objective**
Build a system that can handle continuous daily inventory uploads and maintain accurate stock levels across all platforms.
If the system breaks, we lose money.
Accuracy > design.
---
**Requirements**
* Proven experience building Shopify stores with large product catalogs (1,000+ SKUs)
* Experience integrating Shopify with Amazon and/or multi-channel inventory systems
* Strong understanding of SKU structure and inventory syncing logic
* Experience with bulk product imports (CSV or API-based)
* Ability to think in systems, not just design
* Strong attention to detail (inventory errors are unacceptable)
---
**Preferred (Not Required but Valuable)**
* Experience with books / media inventory
* Familiarity with AbeBooks or similar marketplaces
* Experience with tools like Monsoon, Sellbrite, or LitCommerce
* Understanding of Amazon Seller Central workflows
---
**Timeline**
* Initial build: 2–3 weeks
* Potential for ongoing work based on performance
---
**To Apply**
Include the following:
1. Links to Shopify stores you’ve built (must include large catalogs)
2. Brief explanation of how you would structure inventory syncing across multiple platforms
3. What systems/tools you’ve used for multi-channel inventory management
4. Your approach to preventing overselling with single-quantity products
Applications without this information will not be considered.
