JOB OVERVIEW

This is a hands-on technical role, not a theme-editor merchandising role. You will architect content models with metaobjects, extend the theme, and build high-converting product detail pages (PDPs) and landing pages from the ground up. You need to be comfortable in Liquid, JSON templates, and the Shopify Plus admin, and you need to understand how merchandising and CRO decisions translate into what you build.

The engagement starts as a contract and converts to a longer-term arrangement based on fit and output.

## What you'll do

- Own the Shopify Plus storefront: theme architecture, section and block development, and ongoing maintenance on Online Store 2.0.
- Design and build metafield and metaobject structures to model product data, content, and reusable modules (ingredient callouts, routines, before/after content, review modules, and similar).
- Build and iterate on PDPs that are structured for conversion, including dynamic content driven by metafields and metaobjects.
- Build landing pages for paid social, paid search, email, and promotional campaigns as native theme templates.
- Work in the theme customizer to create flexible, merchandiser-friendly sections so non-developers can update pages without breaking layouts.
- Implement and QA changes across breakpoints, browsers, and devices.
- Collaborate on CRO: ship A/B tests, page variants, and structural changes based on data.
- Keep the storefront fast. Monitor and improve Core Web Vitals and page load.
- Integrate and configure apps (reviews, subscriptions, email/SMS, analytics) cleanly, without app bloat.

## Required skills and experience

- Demonstrable experience building and maintaining stores on **Shopify Plus** specifically, not just standard Shopify.
- Strong **Liquid** skills, including working directly in JSON templates and section schema.
- Deep, practical understanding of **metafields and metaobjects**: how to model them, connect them to the storefront, and build dynamic content around them.
- Fluency with the **theme customizer**, including building configurable sections and blocks for non-technical editors.
- A track record of building **PDPs and landing pages** that are structured for conversion, not just visually correct.
- Solid **HTML, CSS, and JavaScript**.
- Comfort with Git-based theme workflows and the Shopify CLI.
- Ability to work independently, manage your own time, and communicate clearly in an async, remote setup.

## Nice to have

- Shopify Plus tooling: Flow, Launchpad, Functions, and checkout extensibility (checkout UI extensions).
- Experience in beauty, skincare, or prestige DTC.
- Understanding of SEO fundamentals as they apply to templates and structured data (schema).
- Familiarity with CRO and A/B testing tools.
- Basic design sensibility and comfort working from Figma files.
