The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Shopify plugin development, front-end/back-end web development, and familiarity with integrating user-generated content into e-commerce platforms. This developer will work closely with our team to design, develop, and deploy a high-quality, scalable, and secure plugin that integrates smoothly with Shopify themes and enhances product page engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Plugin Development:
Design, develop, and implement a Shopify plugin that allows customers to upload 10-second video reviews of their purchased products.
Ensure the plugin integrates with the Shopify discount system to provide customers with a percentage off their next order as an incentive.
Build a UGC gallery on each product page, where customers can browse video reviews of specific products.
Front-end and Back-end Integration:
Develop a clean, user-friendly video submission interface for customers to upload or record their review videos.
Create a responsive and fast-loading gallery that displays customer videos in a carousel or grid format on the product pages.
Set up a cloud-based storage solution (e.g., AWS S3) to securely store video content and manage metadata for customer submissions.
Admin Dashboard:
Build a dashboard for store owners to manage video submissions, including approving or rejecting content.
Provide store owners with configuration options for discount codes and other settings.
Implement analytics to track engagement, conversion rates, and overall performance of the UGC content.
Security and Compliance:
Ensure customer data, including video uploads and discount codes, is handled securely and complies with GDPR and other data privacy regulations.
Integrate AI-based or manual moderation tools to screen video submissions for inappropriate content.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Proven experience in developing Shopify plugins or applications.
Strong knowledge of Shopify API, Liquid, and other Shopify development tools.
Proficiency in front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React or Vue) and back-end frameworks (Node.js, Ruby on Rails).
Experience with video handling, storage, and embedding on web pages.
Familiarity with cloud-based storage solutions (e.g., AWS S3) and database management (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB).
Basic knowledge of content moderation (AI-based solutions preferred but not required).
Experience with user-generated content and understanding of UGC compliance and security requirements.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with incentive-based or reward systems in e-commerce.
Experience with Shopify’s discount and promotions system.
Strong understanding of UI/UX principles for a smooth customer and admin experience.
