About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Shopify Developer & Ecommerce Operations Manager to take full ownership of our online store, from technical development to end-to-end operational management. This is a hands-on, strategic role where Shopify development and operational excellence are core responsibilities.
You will ensure our Shopify store is high-performing, visually compelling, and fully integrated with all operational systems, including inventory, fulfillment, and customer service workflows. You will also implement automation solutions that streamline processes and enhance the customer experience.
Core Responsibilities
Shopify Development & Technical Management (Primary Focus)
Build, customise, and maintain Shopify themes, templates, and pages
Implement new design themes, landing pages, and content sections for campaigns or seasonal updates
Optimise site performance, speed, and UX across desktop and mobile devices
Ensure Shopify functionality, checkout, and all integrations are reliable and error-free
Manage app integrations (loyalty, reviews, bundling, subscriptions, upsells) and maintain compatibility with updates
Troubleshoot technical issues and implement ongoing enhancements to improve conversion and usability
Collaborate with marketing and creative teams to implement campaign-specific Shopify updates
Ecommerce Operations & End-to-End Solutions
Manage products, pricing, collections, and inventory with accuracy and consistency in Shopify
Develop & manage supply chain integrations & solutions for inventory tracking and PI to logistics platforms
Implement customer service systems and automation to enhance responsiveness and efficiency
Monitor orders, track fulfillment, resolve operational issues, and ensure smooth end-to-end order flow
Maintain overall site health and operational reliability, ensuring minimal downtime or errors
Identify process bottlenecks and implement technology-driven solutions to streamline operations
Support scaling initiatives by integrating Shopify with CRM, ERP, and other backend systems
Qualifications
3+ years of Shopify development experience (theme builds, templates, page creation, apps integration)
Strong technical skills in Shopify Liquid, HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript
Deep understanding of ecommerce workflows, inventory management, and supply chain processes
Experience with customer service system integrations, automation, and multi-channel order management
Familiarity with Shopify apps and third-party integrations (loyalty, subscriptions, reviews, upsells, bundling)
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with creative, marketing, and external partners
