JOB OVERVIEW

Read this part first

Most of our revenue comes from marketplaces. That makes our Shopify stores the most under-built, highest-upside part of the business — and it means we are hiring someone to fix that, not to babysit it.

You will own direct-to-consumer ecommerce across 10+ Shopify stores within a portfolio of ~21 brands — about 9 private-label supplement brands we own outright and ~12 exclusive client brands. Conversion rate, site experience, paid acquisition, attribution, email and SMS, and subscription retention: all of it rolls up to you.

Supplements are a subscription-and-LTV business. If you understand that the second purchase matters more than the first, you are the person we are looking for.

About Brandgate

Brandgate is a South Florida–based brand management company. We own and operate a portfolio of private-label supplement brands, and we act as the exclusive ecommerce partner for a portfolio of client brands.

We have an in-house creative department, a supply chain and logistics team, an AI development function building internal tooling, and dedicated marketplace teams for Amazon and TikTok Shop. You will not be alone on an island — but you will be the person accountable for DTC.

The scope: what you will actually own
1. Conversion rate optimization — the core of the job
Own site conversion rate across every store. Baseline it, set targets, and improve it. This is the number you will be judged on more than any other.
Run a continuous testing program — landing pages, product page layouts, offer framing, bundle and subscription presentation, above-the-fold hierarchy, social proof placement, cart and checkout flow, upsells and post-purchase offers.
Own the Shopify theme and site experience. Page speed, mobile experience (which is most of the traffic), navigation, collection structure, and app bloat. You should be comfortable in theme settings and in Liquid, or willing to get there fast.
Build and maintain high-converting landing pages for paid traffic — advertorials, listicles, quiz funnels, and direct-response PDPs. Tools like Replo, Shogun, PageFly, or GemPages are fine; results are what matter.
Manage the app stack — reviews, subscriptions, upsells, bundles, loyalty. Know what each app costs and whether it earns it.
2. Paid media buying and acquisition
Own paid acquisition across Meta, Google, and TikTok — campaign structure, budget allocation, audience strategy, and creative rotation. Supplement advertising on Meta is a compliance minefield and you need to know how to navigate it without getting accounts restricted.
Set and hit blended ROAS and CAC targets per brand, and understand the difference between platform-reported ROAS and reality.
Run the creative testing program in partnership with our in-house creative department and our UGC/creator pipeline. You brief, they produce, you test, you scale the winners, you kill the rest quickly.
Use AI aggressively — ad copy variants, angle generation, audience research, competitor ad analysis, landing page copy drafting, performance summarization. We provide the tools and expect you to use them to move faster than a team your size should be able to.
3. Tracking and attribution

This is broken at most companies and we would like it not to be broken at ours.

Own the full tracking stack — GA4, Meta Pixel and Conversions API, TikTok Pixel and Events API, Google Ads conversion tracking, server-side tagging where it helps.
Implement and maintain a reliable attribution view — post-purchase surveys, UTM discipline, and a third-party attribution tool if you can justify it. We want to know what is actually driving revenue, not what each platform claims.
Build the reporting that ties ad spend to contribution margin, not just to revenue. Cost of goods, shipping, payment processing, and discounts all belong in the model.
4. Email, SMS, and retention
Own the lifecycle program end to end — welcome series, abandoned cart and browse abandonment, post-purchase, replenishment reminders, winback, and VIP flows.
Run the campaign calendar — promotional sends, product launches, educational content, and seasonal pushes, segmented properly rather than blasted to the whole list.
Own list growth — popups, quizzes, lead magnets, and the tradeoff between capture rate and list quality.
Own subscription performance. For supplement brands this is the whole ballgame: subscription opt-in rate, churn rate, average subscription length, and the flows that reduce cancellations. Improving churn by two points is worth more than most ad optimizations you will make.
Own LTV. Repeat purchase rate, time between orders, and average order value. Report on it monthly and have a plan to move it.
5. Cross-channel and cross-functional
Coordinate with the Amazon and TikTok Shop teams on pricing, promotions, and inventory so we are not competing with ourselves or cannibalizing margin.
Work with logistics on shipping rates, delivery promises, and fulfillment SLAs — both of which directly affect conversion.
Work with the creative department on ad creative, site assets, and email design.
Work with AI development on internal tooling and automation for reporting and campaign management.
Deliver monthly client-facing recaps for the exclusive brands and show up to the daily executive meeting with numbers and recommendations.
Your first 90 days

Days 1–30 — Diagnose. Full audit of every store: conversion funnel with drop-off at each step, site speed, mobile experience, tracking integrity (assume it is broken until you prove otherwise), current paid performance, and the state of the email and SMS program. Deliver a prioritized fix list with estimated revenue impact.

Days 31–60 — Fix the foundation. Tracking and attribution working and trusted. Core lifecycle flows live and optimized. First CRO tests shipped. Paid restructured against real blended targets. Contribution-margin reporting in place.

Days 61–90 — Scale. A continuous CRO testing cadence running. Paid scaling profitably on proven creative. Subscription opt-in and churn both moving in the right direction. A clear roadmap for the next two quarters.

What we are looking for
Must-haves
3+ years running DTC ecommerce on Shopify, ideally across multiple stores or at an agency.
Hands-on paid media buying experience — Meta at minimum, ideally Google and TikTok too — with a track record you can put actual numbers to.
Demonstrated CRO results. Tell us a conversion rate you took from X to Y, what you tested, and what won. "I redesigned the site" is not an answer.
Strong Klaviyo skills (or a comparable ESP) — flow building, segmentation, deliverability, and the ability to write emails that convert.
Real understanding of tracking and attribution — GA4, pixels, Conversions API, UTM hygiene, server-side tagging.
Comfort in Shopify admin and theme customization. HTML/CSS required, basic Liquid strongly preferred.
Unit economics fluency. You should be able to build a contribution margin model per SKU and tell us what CAC we can afford.
Genuine daily use of AI tools for copy, analysis, research, and reporting.
Excellent written English — client-facing reports and customer-facing copy both come from you.
Reliable high-speed internet, working computer, quiet space for video calls.
Nice-to-haves
Supplements or health and wellness DTC experience — especially subscription models and Meta ad compliance in this category.
Experience with subscription apps (Recharge, Skio, Loop, Stay AI) and hands-on churn reduction work.
Experience with SMS marketing (Postscript, Attentive, Klaviyo SMS).
Experience with attribution tools (Triple Whale, Northbeam, Hyros).
Experience with page builders (Replo, Shogun, PageFly, GemPages) and with A/B testing tools.
Direct-response copywriting ability — advertorials, VSLs, long-form sales pages.
Basic design or video editing so you can ship something without waiting in a queue.
Experience with multi-store or agency environments.
Familiarity with ClickUp.
Who this role is NOT for
Someone who calls themselves a "growth marketer" but has never actually built a landing page or fixed a pixel.
Someone who only looks at platform-reported ROAS.
Someone who wants to redesign the site for six weeks instead of running ten tests.
Someone who treats email as an afterthought. On a supplement brand, retention is the business.
Why work here
Real upside. DTC is underdeveloped here on purpose — we have been focused on marketplaces. The wins available to you are large and obvious.
Full ownership. Site, paid, email, retention, attribution. No one is going to split this role into four and make you wait on the others.
In-house creative team plus a creator pipeline feeding you UGC and ad assets.
AI tooling and a dev team that builds what you ask for.
Performance bonus paid monthly against blended ROAS, contribution margin, and LTV.
Growth path to Head of DTC with a team under you.
Direct access to leadership. Decisions in hours, not weeks.
Compensation and benefits
Base: $2,000 – $3,500 USD/month, based on experience
Performance bonus: up to $1,500 USD/month against blended ROAS, contribution margin, and LTV growth
Reviews: at 6 months and annually
Paid time off: [INSERT: e.g. 15 days PTO + local public holidays]
Tools and training covered: Shopify apps, Klaviyo, page builders, AI subscriptions, and relevant courses or certifications
Long-term, full-time, stable.
How to apply

We read every application. Copy-paste gets skipped. Do all four:

1. Subject line / application title Use exactly: SHOPIFY DTC — [YOUR NAME] — CVR

2. Answer these in writing. Real numbers.

Which Shopify stores have you run, in what category, and at what monthly revenue?
Give us one specific CRO test you ran: the hypothesis, what you changed, the before and after conversion rate, and the sample size.
What monthly ad spend have you personally managed, on which platforms, and at what blended ROAS?
Our tracking is unreliable and Meta is claiming more revenue than Shopify shows. Walk us through exactly how you would diagnose and fix that.
A supplement brand has a 12% subscription opt-in rate and 30% churn after the second shipment. Give us your first five moves, in order of expected impact.
How do you use AI in your DTC work today? One concrete example.
Monthly salary expectation in USD, and start date.

3. Send us proof. Links to three Shopify stores you have worked on, with a one-line description of what you specifically owned on each.

4. Record a 3–5 minute Loom. Pull up one of our brand sites — [INSERT: your store URL] — and give us your honest teardown. Three things you would change first and why. Do not be polite about it. This is the part of the application we read most closely.

Shortlisted candidates get a paid trial task: a full CRO audit of one of our stores with prioritized recommendations. Paid regardless of outcome.

We move fast. Strong applicants hear back within 3 business days.
