JOB OVERVIEW

Senior WordPress Developer & UI/UX Specialist
Buzz Digital Agency is hiring a Senior WordPress Developer with a strong eye for design and UI/UX to architect, build, and maintain client-facing websites. You'll leverage WordPress and custom front-end scripting to deliver polished, performance-optimized sites on time, every time. What You'll Do
WordPress Development

Architect and build fully responsive WordPress websites using Elementor
Configure themes, templates, and page-builder layouts that faithfully match design comps
Write clean, maintainable JavaScript, HTML, and CSS for animations, sliders, form validations, and custom interactions

UI/UX Design & Aesthetic Craft

Bring strong design sensibility and aesthetic judgment to every project, since we don't have in-house designers, you'll be the one making layouts look and feel great
Translate briefs, references, and rough directions into pixel-perfect, polished interfaces
Apply strong UX principles (information architecture, user flows, visual hierarchy, micro-interactions) to every build
Make confident decisions on typography, spacing, color, and layout that elevate the finished product
Advocate for usability, accessibility (WCAG), and mobile-first responsive design across all projects

Hosting, Deployment & Security

Manage DNS, SSL certificates, staging/production environments, and backups
Oversee deployment workflows and rollback procedures
Harden sites against common vulnerabilities (XSS, SQL injection, brute-force attacks)

Integrations & Automations

Connect sites to GoHighLevel and payment gateways
Configure and test webhooks and RESTful API calls for seamless data flow

Performance & SEO

Optimize images, implement caching and minification, and hit strong Core Web Vitals scores
Ensure on-page SEO fundamentals (meta tags, structured data, sitemaps)

Quality Assurance & Maintenance

Conduct manual (and where feasible, automated) testing to catch regressions
Troubleshoot, debug, and provide post-launch support including uptime monitoring and error-log reviews

Documentation & Client Handoff

Prepare step-by-step documentation and training materials for clients
Deliver a 30-day post-launch support window and live handover sessions

Continuous Improvement

Research and recommend new tools or processes to boost efficiency and quality
Share knowledge via internal demos or lunch-and-learn sessions

Qualifications

5+ years of professional WordPress development experience
Advanced skills with Elementor
Strong UI/UX sensibility and aesthetic judgment, with a portfolio demonstrating design-forward, visually polished work
Strong command of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS for front-end customizations
Proven track record integrating third-party services via APIs and webhooks
Deep understanding of DNS, SSL, hosting platforms, and deployment workflows
Excellent written and verbal English
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated in a remote setting

Nice to Have

Working knowledge of Divi and ACF
Experience extending CMS functionality with lightweight custom scripts and plugins
Experience collaborating with marketers and PMs to translate requirements into scalable solutions
Proficiency with Git and collaborative development practices (peer reviews, branching and merging workflows)
Familiarity with AI tools and integrations for WordPress
Experience with Figma or similar design tools
Familiarity with Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager
Mentoring junior developers
Experience with Notion
