About Us:
We are an established digital and web development agency providing custom web development, maintenance, and technical solutions for high-growth businesses. We value clean code, transparent communication, and dependable execution.
We are looking for a sharp, dependable Senior Web Developer with Team Lead Potential. We need someone who can balance day-to-day agency client execution with advanced custom engineering, and who has the desire to grow into our technical lead managing a small team of developers.
Leadership Growth & Progression:
Our goal is for the right person in this role to quickly become the main technical point of contact for our Project Manager and junior developers.
You will review technical requirements, help scope complex tasks, unblock other developers when they have technical questions, and ensure code standards remain high across the entire team.
As you demonstrate consistency and technical judgment, you will step into a Team Lead capacity with increased responsibility and priority hours.
About the Hours & Workload:
This is an ongoing, flexible part-time contractor position.
Hours: Workload depends on your availability and speed. If you prefer a lighter pace, expect 5 to 10 hours per week. If you are proactive, fast, responsive, and want to take on rush tasks and complex tickets, you can secure 10 to 20+ hours per week.
Consistent, reliable developers who communicate clearly and help support the team will always receive priority task allocation.
What You Will Do:
Elementor & WordPress Delivery (Day-to-Day Core): About 90% of our client websites are built in WordPress using Elementor. You will build, update, and troubleshoot responsive pages, custom global templates, forms, dynamic loops, and layout fixes quickly and cleanly.
Custom Code & Plugin Development (Advanced Work): When page builders hit their limit, you step in. You will write clean custom PHP, build custom WordPress themes, develop custom plugins from scratch, and architect Custom Post Types (CPT) with ACF Pro.
Shopify & Multi-CMS Support: Handle Shopify theme edits, Liquid code customizations, Section rendering, and occasional work on Webflow, BigCommerce, or Wix Studio.
Technical Leadership & Escalation: Serve as the go-to technical resource for our team. You will clarify technical requirements, review architecture, and answer questions from junior developers so they don't get stuck.
AI-Accelerated Workflow: We actively encourage using modern AI tools (such as Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, and LLMs) to speed up research, code drafting, refactoring, and troubleshooting. You are fully responsible for understanding, thoroughly testing, and validating all output before deploying.
Self-QA & Clean Handoffs: Thoroughly test your own work on desktop and mobile before passing staging links to our Project Manager and QA team.
Required Qualifications:
Deep Elementor Expertise: Fast, pixel-perfect page building, theme builder proficiency, mobile responsiveness, and clean CSS styling without bloated DOM elements.
True Custom Coding Depth: Demonstrated ability to write custom PHP and JavaScript from scratch. You must have actual experience coding custom WordPress plugins or custom themes from the ground up (not just configuring pre-made themes).
Shopify / Liquid Experience: Comfortable navigating Shopify theme code, Liquid templates, and Sections.
Leadership & Mentorship Mindset: Comfortable breaking down technical requirements, explaining complex concepts to junior team members, and guiding technical best practices.
AI Tooling Literacy: Practical experience using AI development tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, etc.) to enhance your speed and code quality without sacrificing engineering rigor.
Version Control: Familiarity with Git/GitHub and staging environments.
Clear Communication: Must provide transparent updates to our Project Manager on task status, estimated completion times, and any blockers.
Reliable Workstation: Stable high-speed internet connection with an active power and secondary internet backup system.
Bonus Points (Not Required, but Great to Have):
Experience building Shopify themes, Webflow sites, or BigCommerce stores from scratch.
Experience with REST APIs, webhooks, and third-party SaaS integrations.
Prior experience as a Team Lead or Senior Developer managing a small team of engineers.
