MarkMedia is a New York–based production company making documentary-style interview videos for private equity firms, investment firms, and Fortune 500 companies. We're looking for a skilled video editor who is also a strong storyteller: someone who can take raw interview footage and a creative brief and turn it into a polished, compelling video.
This is not a "cut where I tell you" role. We want an editor with taste who can find the best moments, shape the story, and make executives look and sound great.
What you'll do
Edit 2–4 minute interview and talking-head videos (roughly one 8-hour day per video)
Work from a clear creative brief covering the goal, audience, tone, key messages, and reference videos
Pick the strongest soundbites and build a clear story with a beginning, middle, and end
Sync multi-camera footage (CAM A + CAM B) and cut between angles with purpose
Add B-roll, music, lower thirds, and simple titles
Do color correction and clean audio (leveling, noise reduction)
Upload cuts to
How we work

What we're looking for
Advanced Adobe Premiere Pro skills (required)
Strong storytelling instincts. You know how to structure an interview so it holds attention.
Excellent written English communication. You ask good questions, give clear updates, and flag problems early instead of going quiet. This matters as much as editing skill.
A portfolio that includes interview, talking-head, corporate, or documentary work
Reliable, fast internet for downloading and uploading large files
Able to work independently and hit deadlines consistently
Available during Philippines daytime hours, which overlap with US overnight
Nice to have
After Effects or motion graphics (animated lower thirds, titles, simple graphics)
DaVinci Resolve color grading
Experience with finance, business, or executive content
The opportunity
We'll start with a paid trial video. If it goes well, there's a batch of 10 videos ready to go, and ongoing work after that (several projects per month). We want a long-term editor we can grow with, not a one-off freelancer.
Pay is project-based, with room to increase for the right person.
To apply, include:
Start your message with the words "Story First" so we know you read the full post
Links to 2–3 interview or talking-head videos you edited, and for one of them, a sentence or two on the storytelling choices you made
Your experience with Premiere Pro, and After Effects if any
How many hours per week you can give us, and whether you have other ongoing clients
Your rate per hour or per video in USD
