## About Consuro

Consuro is a U.S.-based managed IT services company that has been helping businesses manage and improve their technology since 2008.

We are expanding our technical team and looking for an experienced Senior Systems & Network Engineer based in the Philippines. You will work closely with our Philippine and U.S. teams, serving as a senior escalation resource and helping deliver infrastructure projects for our managed-service clients.

This is a long-term, full-time independent-contractor opportunity for someone who enjoys solving difficult technical problems, taking ownership of client environments, and helping other technicians succeed.

## About the Role

You will support and manage client infrastructure across networking, Windows Server, virtualization, storage, Microsoft 365, identity, virtual desktops, backup, and security.

This is a senior technical position—not an entry-level help-desk role. You will be expected to diagnose complex issues independently, communicate directly with clients and team members, lead infrastructure projects, and take problems through to a successful resolution.

## Key Responsibilities

- Serve as a Tier 3 escalation resource for the Philippine and U.S. technical teams.
- Take ownership of complex i ---------- and service requests from initial investigation through resolution.
- Troubleshoot network, server, virtualization, storage, identity, Microsoft 365, backup, and security issues.
- Design, deploy, configure, and maintain network environments using SonicWall, Ubiquiti UniFi, Cisco, and Dell technologies.
- Configure and troubleshoot firewalls, switches, wireless networks, VLANs, routing, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, and multi-site connectivity.
- Deploy, configure, and administer Proxmox Virtual Environment.
- Manage Proxmox hosts, clusters, virtual machines, containers, storage, backups, replication, and high-availability configurations.
- Administer Microsoft Active Directory, including domain controllers, users, groups, Group Policy, permissions, DNS, DHCP, trusts, and replication.
- Provision, configure, secure, and manage Microsoft 365 tenants, users, licenses, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and related services.
- Plan and perform integrations and migrations between on-premises Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID/Microsoft 365.
- Configure and manage identity synchronization, multifactor authentication, Conditional Access, and single sign-on.
- Administer virtual desktop and remote-application environments, including user access, profiles, applications, capacity, and performance.
- Deploy and configure new physical and virtual Windows Servers.
- Perform server upgrades, migrations, patching, performance tuning, and lifecycle management.
- Deploy, configure, and administer enterprise storage systems, including Dell Storage Center/SC Series systems, formerly known as Compellent.
- Administer backup, replication, disaster-recovery, and business-continuity systems.
- Review monitoring alerts, identify root causes, and implement permanent corrective actions.
- Improve infrastructure security through system hardening, patch management, access controls, multifactor authentication, and vulnerability remediation.
- Plan technical changes, evaluate risks, communicate expected impacts, and perform post-change validation.
- Create and maintain accurate technical documentation, network diagrams, procedures, standards, and client configuration records.
- Mentor junior and intermediate technicians and share technical knowledge with the team.
- Communicate with clients professionally and explain technical issues in clear, understandable language.
- Participate in scheduled after-hours maintenance and escalation coverage when required.

## Required Qualifications

- At least five years of progressive experience in systems administration, network engineering, infrastructure engineering, or advanced technical support.
- Experience serving as a senior or Tier 3 escalation resource.
- Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server and Active Directory.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, subnetting, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, switching, VPNs, wireless networking, and firewall administration.
- Hands-on experience administering Proxmox VE or comparable enterprise virtualization platforms.
- Experience administering SonicWall firewalls.
- Experience with Ubiquiti UniFi, Cisco, Dell, or comparable business networking equipment.
- Strong Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Entra ID administration experience.
- Experience integrating or migrating on-premises Active Directory environments with Microsoft 365 and Entra ID.
- Experience deploying and supporting physical and virtual Windows Servers.
- Experience administering virtual desktop or Remote Desktop Services environments.
- Working knowledge of enterprise storage, RAID, SAN, NAS, iSCSI, and storage networking.
- Experience managing backup systems and performing successful file, server, and virtual-machine recoveries.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues methodically and independently.
- Ability to research unfamiliar problems and make sound technical recommendations.
- Strong understanding of security best practices, least-privilege access, multifactor authentication, patching, and system hardening.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
- Excellent customer-service, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities across different client environments.
- Reliable high-speed internet and a suitable professional remote-work environment.
- Ability to provide coverage during an agreed schedule that includes regular overlap with U.S. business hours.

## Preferred Qualifications

- Remote Desktop Services, Citrix, VMware Horizon, or other virtual desktop platforms
- VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V
- Veeam or comparable backup and disaster-recovery platforms
- PowerShell scripting and infrastructure automation
- Remote monitoring and management platforms
- Professional services automation and ticketing systems
- IT service-management processes, including i ---------- , problem, and change management
- Relevant Microsoft, Cisco, SonicWall, Dell, VMware, or Proxmox certifications

A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred but not required. Demonstrated technical ability, professional experience, sound judgment, and a record of successful project delivery are more important than a particular degree.

## Contractor Terms and Compensation

- Long-term independent-contractor engagement
- Approximately 40 hours of service per week
- Remote position based in the Philippines
- Monthly contract fee of **₱130,000–₱180,000**, depending on experience and demonstrated technical expertise
- Paid leave under the contractor agreement
- Designated paid holidays
- Contractual 13th-month payment

- Regular collaboration with Philippine and U.S. team members
- Occasional scheduled maintenance or escalation coverage outside the normal service window

The selected contractor will be responsible for their own Philippine tax registration, filings, and other obligations applicable to self-employed professionals.
