Senior Software Engineer — Own & Maintain Our Live Platforms

About the role
We've built and launched two live products — a B2B trading platform and a pet health app — and we're looking for a senior engineer to take full ownership of them. This is a stewardship role: your job is to keep these applications running smoothly, stable, and secure, and to evolve them as we grow.

This is not a junior or learning-on-the-job position. We need someone with many years of hands-on experience who can look at a codebase, understand it deeply and quickly, and take responsibility for it end to end. You should be the person we can hand the keys to and trust to keep everything running.

What you'll do
Own and maintain two live products — a B2B trading platform and a pet health app
Constantly review and update the apps — keep them current, stable, secure, and performing well
Publish and release to the App Store (and Google Play where relevant), managing the full submission and update process
Manage bug logs and issues — track, prioritize, and resolve reported bugs, and put safeguards in place to stop them recurring
Ensure updates are applied — keep dependencies, frameworks, and platform requirements up to date
Implement new features — plan, build, test, and ship enhancements as the products grow
Automate everything possible — testing, deployments, monitoring, and release pipelines, so the apps run smoothly with minimal manual effort
Make and document sound technical decisions, managing all work through Git and professional version-control workflows

What we're looking for
Senior-level experience — many years building, launching, and maintaining production web applications
Deep, genuine technical understanding — able to fully grasp what they're working on, not just patch around it
Full-stack capability — comfortable across front end, back end, databases, and infrastructure
Strong command of multiple programming languages and modern frameworks
Production reliability mindset — experience keeping live, business-critical systems stable and secure
App Store / Google Play experience — has published and maintained mobile apps through the full release and update cycle
Automation-first approach — builds automated testing, deployment, and monitoring so systems run with minimal manual effort
Proficiency with Git and professional version-control workflows
Ownership and autonomy — can take a system and run with it without constant direction
Clear communicator — can explain technical decisions and trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders

- Experience with trading, fintech, or other transactional/B2B platforms (relevant to our trading platform)
- Experience with consumer or health-related apps (relevant to our pet health app)
- Cloud infrastructure and CI/CD experience (AWS/GCP/Azure)
- Experience with security, compliance, or handling sensitive data
- Experience mentoring or eventually leading other engineers
