JOB OVERVIEW

Job Brief: Xero Certified Specialist / Cloud Accountant
1. Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Xero Specialist based in the Philippines to manage the financial operations for a New Zealand-based property investment and short-term rental business (Palmy Stays). The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Xero, New Zealand GST requirements, and integrating third-party property management or payroll applications.

2. Key Responsibilities
Xero Management: Full-cycle bookkeeping, including bank reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable, and fixed asset tracking for a portfolio of ~8 properties.

Property Integration: Manage the flow of data between our Property Management System (PMS) and Xero to ensure accurate booking income and expense tracking.

NZ Compliance: Prepare monthly/bi-monthly GST returns and ensure all coding aligns with New Zealand IRD standards.

Payroll Administration: Manage staff payroll using localized Philippine software (e.g., Hurey, PaySauce, or Employment Hero) and ensure seamless synchronization with Xero.

Reporting: Generate monthly Profit & Loss statements per property to track ROI and maintenance costs.

3. Required Qualifications
Certified Xero Advisor: Must have an active Xero certification.

NZ Accounting Experience: Proven track record working with New Zealand businesses, specifically regarding GST and the "Chart of Accounts" for property rentals.

Tech Stack Proficiency: Experience with:

Xero (Core accounting)

Hubdoc or Dext (Receipt processing)

Property Management Systems (e.g., Guesty, Hospitable, or Landlord Studio)

Stripe/Xero Integration for automated payments.

Communication: Exceptional English verbal and written skills for drafting professional communications and coordinating with NZ-based accountants.

4. Technical Environment
Our business operates on a high-end digital stack. You will be expected to utilize:

Xero integrated with Stripe.

Mesh Wi-Fi/Cloud-based tools for real-time collaboration.

AI Productivity tools (Gemini/ChatGPT) for workflow optimization.
