JOB OVERVIEW

About the Role

We are a fast-growing US-based eCommerce and distribution company seeking an experienced NetSuite Accountant to take ownership of our day-to-day accounting operations.

Our finance function is currently behind on month-end close, reconciliations, and bookkeeping. We are looking for a highly capable accounting professional who can step in, organize the financial operations, and help bring the books up to date.

This role will work closely with leadership and our local bookkeeper (who handles payments and bank access). You will be responsible for managing the accounting system, financial records, and reporting inside NetSuite.

This position may evolve into a lead accounting role managing additional accounting staff as the company grows.

Responsibilities
Core Accounting

• Manage daily accounting operations in NetSuite
• Maintain accurate general ledger records
• Perform monthly and quarterly close processes
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and payment processors
• Manage accounts payable and receivable workflows
• Review and correct historical accounting issues

eCommerce Accounting

• Reconcile Amazon, Shopify, and other marketplace transactions
• Track COGS, inventory, and margin accuracy
• Review marketplace settlement reports and reconcile them to NetSuite
• Identify discrepancies in inventory and financial reporting

Financial Operations

• Ensure accounting records remain organized and accurate
• Maintain supporting documentation and audit trails
• Prepare financial reports for management review
• Help improve accounting processes and controls

Process Improvement

• Identify gaps in current workflows
• Help design better processes inside NetSuite
• Document accounting procedures

Required Experience

Candidates must have real experience working in NetSuite.

Minimum qualifications:

• 5+ years accounting experience
• Direct NetSuite experience (required)
• Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles
• Experience with month-end close
• Experience with bank and payment reconciliations
• Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills
• Strong attention to detail and organization

Highly Preferred

• eCommerce accounting experience
• Amazon marketplace accounting experience
• Inventory and COGS accounting
• Experience with multi-channel sales businesses
• Experience cleaning up messy accounting systems
• Experience working with US companies

This is not an entry-level bookkeeping role. We need someone who can take control of the accounting system and bring the books back into order.
