IT Recruiter (U.S. Based Resources)

We are a small New York City based IT Consulting and IT Professional Services company with approximately 70 consultants, providing IT Professional Services primarily to New York City government clients.
We hire IT professionals to work remotely and on-site across our projects and for our clients. The majority of our clients are based in NYC, but our candidates can work anywhere in the United States. We occasionally seek offshore resources, but the primary focus of this role is sourcing U.S.-based talent.
We are seeking an experienced IT Recruiter to join our team on an offshore basis. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, attracting, and hiring top IT talent — specifically U.S.-based candidates who will be working in the United States. You will work closely with hiring managers to understand the technical requirements of various roles and source candidates accordingly.
The IT Recruiter will assist us in hiring both full-time employees (approximately 20% of the time) and contractors (approximately 80% of the time). Access to job boards will be provided
Job Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with hiring managers to define job requirements and create detailed job descriptions
2. Source and screen U.S.-based candidates through various channels (job boards, LinkedIn, social media, referrals, etc.)
3. Conduct interviews and assess candidates' technical skills, experience, and cultural fit
4. Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified U.S.-based IT professionals
5. Negotiate offers and close candidates
6. Stay current with U.S. IT market trends, compensation benchmarks, and best practices in IT recruitment
7. Provide regular updates to hiring managers on the status of open requisitions
8. Participate in recruitment planning meetings and occasionally in virtual job fairs

Requirements

1. Minimum 5 years of proven experience as an IT Recruiter, specifically recruiting U.S.-based IT professionals for a U.S. company or U.S.-based clients — this is a hard requirement
2. Direct experience sourcing candidates who live and work in the United States — candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. (citizens, green card holders, or valid work visa holders)
3. Strong understanding of U.S.-based IT roles, technologies, and the U.S. hiring landscape (including W2, C2C, and 1099 contract structures)
4. Familiarity with U.S. work authorization types (U.S. Citizen, Green Card, H1B, OPT, EAD, TN, etc.)
5. Experience recruiting for IT contractor and consulting roles, not just full-time placements
6. Proficiency with U.S.-focused job boards such as Dice, LinkedIn, Indeed, ZipRecruiter, and similar platforms
7. Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS)
8. Excellent written and verbal English communication skills — must be able to communicate clearly and professionally with U.S.-based hiring managers and candidates
9. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision across time zones
10. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in follow-up
11. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred
