Senior Google Ads Specialist — Part Time (2 Days/Week, Growing to Full Time)
We're a team of four — small, senior, and no layers between you and the work. We're looking for an experienced Google Ads specialist to join us part time, starting at 2 days per week. This is a long-term role — full time is available down the track for the right person as our client load grows.
Worth flagging: your memory has StudioBetter at three employees with a fourth expected. If "team of four" means you plus three staff, that's five people in the room and the ad would undersell it — worth a quick check on which count you mean before posting.
What you'll be doing
Building, managing and optimising Search, Shopping, PMax and Demand Gen campaigns
Keyword and search term work: research, clustering, n-gram analysis, negatives, promotion decisions
Bid strategy selection and target setting grounded in actual unit economics, not guesswork
Writing and testing RSAs at the asset level
Diagnosing conversion tracking problems and knowing when the data can't be trusted
Contributing real strategic thinking: account structure decisions, budget allocation, where the next growth is going to come from
Documenting what you did and why, clearly enough that someone else can pick it up
No client communication is required to start. You'll work directly with our internal team. That said, excellent written English and communication is non-negotiable — you'll be writing account notes, flagging issues, explaining your reasoning, and pushing back when you disagree with a direction. There's a path to client-facing work later if you want it.
What we're looking for
4+ years of hands-on Google Ads experience, ideally agency-side across multiple accounts
Genuine experience in both ecommerce and lead generation (not just one)
Strong grasp of conversion tracking: GA4, GTM, enhanced conversions, offline imports
Comfortable in Google Ads Editor, Merchant Center and spreadsheets
Someone who thinks in terms of profit and business outcomes, not platform metrics
Self-directed: you can be handed an account and a goal and get on with it
Available for some overlap with Australian business hours (AEST/AEDT)
Nice to have
Meta Ads experience
Feed management tools (Channable, Feedonomics or similar)
Looker Studio reporting
Shopify familiarity — comfortable navigating a store, collections and product pages
SEO fundamentals: you understand how paid and organic interact, and can spot when a landing page is working against itself
You actually use AI tools in your workflow. If you're already using Claude (or similar) for research, analysis and getting through the boring parts faster, tell us how — we care about this more than most agencies do
