JOB OVERVIEW

Company: US-Based SaaS Startup
Position: Full-Time | 40 Hours/Week | Long-Term
Bonus: 13th-Month Bonus
Schedule: Flexible – Work Normal Philippine Daytime Hours (No Overnight US Shift)

**About the Opportunity**

We're a US-based software company building a comprehensive Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform that connects accounting, customer relationships, operations, workflows, and other essential business functions into one integrated system. After 18 months of development, we're looking for our first external software engineer to help complete our MVP, improve existing functionality, and prepare the product for launch. You'll work directly with a technical founder who leads the overall product vision and architecture, while taking ownership of meaningful development work. We're looking for someone who doesn't just write code to make something work, but thinks critically about how to build scalable, flexible, and maintainable systems that can evolve as the product grows.

**What You'll Do**

• Full-Stack Development: Build and improve features across our Django backend, PostgreSQL database, and HTML/CSS/JavaScript frontend.
• Scalable System Design: Develop reusable, configurable, and extensible solutions rather than relying on hardcoded logic or short-term workarounds.
• Feature Ownership: Independently take features from requirements through implementation, testing, and completion.
• Architecture & Problem-Solving: Understand how different modules interact, anticipate edge cases, and recommend thoughtful technical solutions.
• DevOps & Infrastructure: Assist with AWS deployments, environment configuration, CI/CD processes, monitoring, and production troubleshooting.
• Quality & Performance: Debug complex issues, optimize queries and application performance, write automated tests, and improve security and reliability.
• Technical Collaboration: Work closely with the founder to evaluate approaches, identify improvements, and help prepare the platform for production.

**Our Tech Stack**

• Backend: Python, Django
• Database: PostgreSQL
• Frontend: HTML, CSS, Vanilla JavaScript
• Testing: pytest
• Background Tasks: Celery, Redis
• Infrastructure & DevOps: AWS, Git, CI/CD, deployment and monitoring tools
• Other: REST APIs, third-party integrations

**What We're Looking For**

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, with strong hands-on Python/Django expertise.
• Strong knowledge of Django architecture, PostgreSQL, relational database design, and query optimization.
• Comfortable building interactive interfaces using HTML, CSS, and vanilla JavaScript.
• Experience designing scalable, dynamic, and maintainable systems with reusable components and configurable business logic.
• Ability to understand and extend existing complex codebases without introducing unnecessary complexity or technical debt.
• Working knowledge of DevOps fundamentals, cloud deployments, and production application troubleshooting.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, testing, and performance optimization skills.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership, and make sound technical decisions with minimal supervision.
• Proactive communication, attention to detail, and good written and spoken English.

**Nice to Have**

• Experience building ERP, CRM, SaaS, or other business management platforms.
• Experience with AG Grid, particularly advanced data tables, filtering, editing, and dynamic data-driven interfaces.
• Experience with Celery, Redis, background processing, and API integrations.
• Stronger AWS, CI/CD, infrastructure automation, or application monitoring experience.
• Experience helping bring early-stage software products into production.

**Why Join Us**

• Meaningful Ownership: Take responsibility for important features and contribute to how the product is built.
• Work With a Technical Founder: Collaborate directly with someone who understands software development and values thoughtful engineering.
• Interesting Technical Challenges: Build interconnected systems with complex business workflows, dynamic interfaces, and evolving requirements.
• Flexible Working Hours: Work during normal Philippine daytime hours. No overnight US shift required.
• Long-Term Growth: Join early and have the opportunity to grow your responsibilities as the product and engineering team expand.

**How to Apply**

1. Your resume/CV and a brief overview of your Python/Django experience.
2. Your GitHub, portfolio, or examples of relevant projects, if available.
3. A brief example of a complex feature or system you independently designed or developed. How did you make it scalable, flexible, or maintainable rather than relying on hardcoded solutions?
4. Your expected monthly salary (USD) and earliest availability.

We're looking for a thoughtful, dependable engineer who takes pride in building quality software, solves problems independently, and thinks beyond simply completing assigned tasks. If you enjoy building well-designed systems and want to make a meaningful impact on a growing software product, we'd love to hear from you.
