JOB OVERVIEW

## About the Role

We are a multi-entity e-commerce business (Amazon-focused) seeking a highly experienced accounting operator to own end-to-end bookkeeping and monthly close, produce reliable monthly reporting, organize vendor invoices/AP workflows, maintain COGS and cost updates, and oversee U.S. multi-state sales tax filings You will work closely with the owner/CEO and coordinate with our U.S.-based CPA who will review close quality and support higher-risk accounting and compliance decisions.

This is a long-term role for someone who is process-driven, detail-oriented, and comfortable owning deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

A) Bookkeeping + Monthly Close (Primary)

* Manage day-to-day bookkeeping (categorization, class/location mapping, reconciliations)
* Own the month-end close process with a documented checklist and deadlines
* Prepare month-end journal entries and schedules (as needed)
* Ensure clean, consistent financials across entities/brands
* Maintain supporting documentation and audit trail

B) Monthly Reporting + Operational Finance

* Produce a monthly reporting package (P&L, balance sheet, cash summary)
* Provide variance explanations (month-over-month and vs. budget/targets where applicable)
* Create/maintain KPI reporting (e.g., gross margin, contribution margin, ad spend ratios where available)

C) Vendor Invoices / AP Organization

* Create and maintain an invoice intake and organization system (;email, folders, naming conventions)
* Code vendor invoices correctly and prepare for payment runs
* Ensure invoices are matched to correct vendor, period, and COGS where applicable
* Maintain AP aging and track missing invoices/documentation

D) COGS + Cost Updates (E-commerce Specific)

* Maintain product cost updates (including vendor cost changes and landed cost methodology as defined)
* Support inventory/COGS reconciliation processes and documentation
* Coordinate with internal stakeholders to keep COGS accurate and current

Required Experience (Must-Haves)

* 3+ years in bookkeeping/accounting operations (U.S. clients preferred)
* Demonstrated Amazon/e-commerce accounting experience: Amazon settlements/payout reconciliation experience is required
* Strong month-end close ownership experience (checklists, deadlines, reconciliations)
* Experience preparing and filing U.S. sales tax returns (multi-state)
* High proficiency with spreadsheets (Excel/Google Sheets): reconciliations, pivots, structured schedules
* Excellent written English and professional business communication
* Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
* Familiarity with Amazon fees, refunds, reserves, and advertising accounting
* Experience supporting multi-entity businesses and class/location reporting

* Amazon Seller Central (finance reports, settlements)
* Google Drive
* Taxjar

Work Hours

* Full-time, long-term
* Some overlap with U.S. Eastern Time preferred for meetings and urgent matters (exact schedule can be agreed)
