Senior DME Processor (Full-Time, Remote)
We are a U.S. durable medical equipment (DME) supplier looking for an experienced Senior DME Processor to own orders from the day they arrive until they are ready to bill, and to review files for accuracy before orders are approved.
Please do not apply if you do not have DME experience. A minimum of 2 years of DME order processing experience on the supplier side is required.
What you will do:
• Receive new orders from referral portals and fax, and match every document to the correct patient
• Review each order for completeness: prescription, prescriber signature and date, diagnosis codes, HCPCS codes, and notes supporting medical necessity
• Call and fax doctors' offices for missing or incorrect documents and follow up until received
• Identify orders that need prior authorization and track them to a decision
• Send patient intake forms and coordinate with our patient team on missing information
• Track shipments through delivery and confirm proof of delivery is on file
• Hand completed orders to billing, ready to bill
• Document every action so anyone can pick up the file and know where it stands
Senior responsibilities:
• Review other processors' files for accuracy and completeness before orders are approved
• Catch documentation errors before equipment is ordered or billed
• Place supplier orders once approved, confirming item, size and quantity against the order
• Help train new processors and improve our processes
Requirements:
• 2+ years of DME order processing experience at a DME supplier (required); 3+ years preferred
• Strong knowledge of DME documentation requirements
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong written and spoken English
• Available during U.S. Central time business hours
• Reliable internet with a backup internet source and backup power (required)
Preferred:
• Experience with braces and orthotics
• Experience with DME software and referral portals
• Experience auditing files, placing supplier orders, or training others
How to apply:
In your application, answer these three questions:
1. How many years have you worked at a DME supplier, and what types of equipment did you process?
2. Walk us through one DME order you processed from start to finish: the item, what was missing, and what you did. (No patient names.)
3. Have you ever reviewed or audited other people's DME files? Do you have backup power and backup internet?
Applications that do not answer these questions will not be considered.
