READ FULL DESCRIPTION - ENGLISH MASTERY REQUIRED
We are looking for a highly skilled and creative DTC Video Editor to join our growing performance marketing team.
This role is focused on transforming raw video footage, UGC content, and existing creative assets into high-performing, short-form video advertisements for platforms like Meta, TikTok, and YouTube.
We're not looking for someone who simply follows editing instructions. We need someone who understands what makes a great advertisement, has a strong creative eye, and can independently turn raw footage into a polished, engaging final product.
Requirements & Responsibilities:
- You must have an exceptional understanding of spoken and written English, including tone, context, humour, and natural conversational language. This is essential for understanding scripts, selecting footage, and making creative editing decisions.
- Previous experience editing advertisements for DTC brands, affiliate marketers, or performance marketing agencies is required. You should understand the difference between editing content for entertainment and editing content designed to drive conversions.
- Creatively and efficiently transform raw footage, UGC content, and existing assets into polished, high-performing video advertisements.
- Demonstrate an exceptional understanding of pacing, storytelling, hooks, visual transitions, and audience retention.
- Have a strong creative eye and the ability to independently determine how a finished advertisement should look, feel, and flow.
- Understand how to structure short-form advertisements, including attention-grabbing hooks, engaging body content, and compelling calls to action.
- Be highly proficient in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro or CapCut
- Source relevant, high-quality B-roll footage from platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and other content libraries when necessary.
- Demonstrate strong skills in audio editing, sound design, music selection, captions, and visual effects that enhance the overall quality of an advertisement.
- Understand how to use existing footage creatively, including rearranging scenes, selecting the strongest takes, and incorporating visual elements that improve the final product.
- Be comfortable producing multiple creative variations from the same raw footage, including different hooks, pacing, and editing styles.
- Work independently with minimal creative direction while consistently delivering high-quality results.
- Manage deadlines, maintain organized project files, and consistently deliver work on schedule.
We maintain high creative standards and expect our editors to take pride in every advertisement they produce. Before submitting a completed project, you should independently review your work to ensure:
- Every cut, transition, and visual element feels intentional and polished.
- Captions are accurate, properly synchronized, and free from spelling or grammatical errors.
- Music, voiceovers, and sound effects are balanced and appropriately timed.
- B-roll footage is relevant to the dialogue and enhances the message rather than simply filling empty space.
- The advertisement maintains strong pacing and audience engagement throughout.
- There are no awkward pauses, unnecessary frames, abrupt audio transitions, or distracting visual inconsistencies.
- The finished video meets the creative brief and is ready for publication.
We expect editors to identify and correct issues independently. Your first submission should represent your best work, not a rough draft that requires extensive quality-control feedback.
Bonus Skills (Not Required):
- Previous experience editing advertisements in verticals such as GLP-1, Health & Wellness, Auto Insurance, Debt Relief, Home Insurance, ACA, Final Expense, Medicare, or other affiliate marketing industries.
- Experience working with established DTC brands or high-volume performance marketing agencies.
- Familiarity with Meta Ads Library and the ability to identify creative trends and editing styles used in successful advertisements.
- Experience editing direct-response UGC advertisements, testimonials, VSLs, or spokesperson-style videos.
- Experience with motion graphics, advanced text animations, or Adobe After Effects.
- Understanding of creative testing, including how different hooks, editing styles, and visual elements can influence advertising performance.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted editing tools and workflows.
What We're Looking For:
Above all, we're looking for someone with strong creative instincts and the ability to think like a performance marketer, not just a video editor.
You should be able to watch raw footage, understand the intended message, and independently make the creative decisions necessary to turn it into an effective advertisement.
We value editors who take ownership of their work, pay attention to the smallest details, and continuously look for ways to improve the quality and performance of their videos.
You will be working with an experienced performance marketing team that produces and tests creative content at scale.
Application Requirements:
You MUST provide a portfolio of your previous video editing work. Applications without a portfolio will be deleted.
Your portfolio should ideally include advertisements you have personally edited for DTC brands, affiliate marketers, or performance marketing campaigns.
Important: All portfolios are reviewed individually. Please only submit work that you personally created or substantially edited. Any misrepresentation of your experience or previous work will result in disqualification.
