About Us
2DC is an Australian digital agency with offices in Australia, the Philippines and the UK. We deliver large-scale web and mobile platforms for enterprise clients across government, health, membership organisations and the not-for-profit sector. We are looking for an experienced Senior CX/UX Designer to join a specific project engagement starting in April 2025.
About the Role
This is a part-time, work-from-home contract running from 7 April to 6 November 2025, with a total commitment of approximately 250 hours. Hours are spread across the project lifecycle and vary significantly by phase, with the heavier research and design workload front-loaded in the earlier phases.
You will be embedded within our Australian delivery team on a complex, multi-platform project that spans a responsive national website, a branded member mobile app, CRM integrations, and multiple third-party system touchpoints. This is not a purely visual role - we need someone who can drive the full UX process from research through to handoff, with a strong analytical mindset and the ability to translate findings into clear, evidenced recommendations.
What You Will Be Doing
Discovery and User Research
Analysing existing site behaviour using Hotjar - reviewing heatmaps, scroll maps, session recordings and click data, then producing clear visual outputs that communicate how users are currently navigating the site
Facilitating and synthesising insights from workshops with diverse user groups including administrators, members, and other stakeholder types
Distilling workshop outputs into a structured view of user pains, opportunities and roadblocks, prioritised by impact and frequency
Planning and conducting additional user research using qualitative and quantitative methods where gaps exist, then translating findings into actionable recommendations
Strategy and Frameworks
Applying Jobs To Be Done (JTBD) thinking to frame user needs and challenge assumptions about what the product should do
Using Value Proposition Design to map the fit between user needs and the solutions being built
Validating design decisions against user context to ensure the product solves real problems, not assumed ones
Creating user personas, journey maps, information architecture and interaction models that guide product strategy and design direction
User Journey Mapping
Mapping primary and secondary customer journeys end-to-end, covering both web and app touchpoints
Identifying friction points, drop-off risks and
Documenting journeys in a format that is useful to developers, content specialists and stakeholders alike
Design and Delivery
Designing intuitive, accessible interfaces for both web and mobile, with a strong focus on WCAG 2.1 AA+ compliance
Building interactive prototypes and wireframes in Figma to communicate design intent to developers and stakeholders
Producing developer-ready specifications, design systems and component libraries that the build team can work from directly
Supporting accessibility and usability testing throughout the build and QA phases
Collaboration
Working closely with art directors, content specialists, developers and project managers across Australian and international time zones
Mentoring junior designers and contributing to the continuous improvement of UX processes and standards within the team
What We Are Looking For
At least ten years of hands-on experience in UX research and design for digital products, ideally across both web and native mobile
Demonstrated ability to conduct and synthesise behavioural analytics - specifically Hotjar or equivalent tools - and present findings in a clear, visual format
Experience facilitating stakeholder and user workshops, and the analytical skills to translate messy, qualitative outputs into structured insight frameworks
Solid understanding of Jobs To Be Done and Value Proposition Design as applied frameworks, not just theoretical knowledge
Strong working knowledge of WCAG accessibility standards and inclusive design principles
Expert-level proficiency in Figma, including design systems, prototyping, auto-layout and developer handoff workflows
Experience working within complex integration environments where UX decisions need to account for CRM data, tiered access models, SSO or payment flows
Confident communication skills, comfortable presenting findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders
Self-motivated and reliable, able to work independently in a remote environment while staying closely connected to the wider team
A portfolio that demonstrates your end-to-end UX process - research, synthesis, strategy, and design - not just final visual outputs
Nice to Have
Experience with AI-assisted design tools such as Figma AI
Familiarity with GA4 or similar analytics platforms
Experience with content-heavy platforms requiring complex information architecture
Previous work with Australian clients or within Australian digital agencies
What We Offer
AUD $25 per hour for the right applicant
Day shift hours: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Philippine time on scheduled working days
Part-time contract, work from home
A genuinely interesting, large-scale project with a senior and collaborative delivery team
How to Apply
Submit your CV, portfolio, and a brief cover note explaining why this role is the right fit for you. Your portfolio should include at least one example that shows your research and synthesis process - not just the end design.
If shortlisted following the initial interview, the next stage will include a practical skills assessment to help us find the best match for the role.
