Senior Accountant (Remote, Full-Time, 1099 Contractor)
Compensation: $2,000 – $2,500/month (USD) DOE
Schedule: Full-time, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM MST (U.S. Mountain Time)
Location: Remote

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and proactive Senior Accountant to support multi-entity accounting operations for a growing U.S.-based business.
This role goes beyond basic bookkeeping—you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financials, supporting month-end close, and ensuring clean reporting across multiple entities. You will work closely with leadership and have a high level of ownership in the accounting function.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage full-cycle accounting across multiple entities
Perform bank and credit card reconciliations with high accuracy
Assist in and help drive the month-end close (target: by the 15th)
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financials in Xero
Prepare and review financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet)
Track and manage intercompany transactions
Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies
Support payroll journal entries and expense allocations
Assist with internal and investor reporting
Continuously improve accounting processes and workflows
Skills + Requirements:
Xero Certified (Required)
3+ years of accounting experience (multi-entity preferred)
Strong written and verbal English communication skills (B2+)
Accrual accounting
Financial statements
Account reconciliations

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Available to work during US time zones
Preferred (Nice to Have):
Experience working with U.S.-based companies
Familiarity with real estate or multi-entity environments
Experience with Gusto (payroll) and/or Avalara (1099/tax reporting)
Excel proficiency (pivot tables, lookups, formatting)

Month-end close completed on time (by the 15th)
Minimal errors and strong attention to detail
Ability to identify and solve problems proactively
Clear, professional communication with the team
Contractor Terms:
This role is structured as an independent contractor (1099) position
Contractor is responsible for their own taxes, equipment, and work setup
