JOB OVERVIEW

The Company is a dynamic and entrepreneurial organization with operations spanning real estate, private investments, and operating businesses. We manage multiple entities and investment structures and are looking for a highly capable Senior Accountant / Controller who can bring strong financial discipline, organization, and operational accounting expertise to a fast-moving environment.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in complexity, enjoys building systems and processes, and can independently manage accounting across multiple entities.

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Accountant / Controller to oversee day-to-day accounting operations across a portfolio of entities. The ideal candidate has strong experience with multi-entity accounting, real estate accounting, investment tracking, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

You should be highly proficient in QuickBooks and comfortable managing everything from transaction coding and month-end close to entity-level financial reporting and cash management.

This is a hands-on role requiring both strategic thinking and willingness to execute detailed accounting work.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Operations

* Manage full-cycle accounting across multiple entities and business structures
* Maintain accurate general ledgers using double-entry bookkeeping principles
* Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closes
* Prepare and review financial statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports
* Handle intercompany transactions and reconciliations
* Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation

Bank Reconciliations & AP/AR

* Perform daily/weekly bank and credit card reconciliations
* Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable workflows
* Utilize ---------- for bill pay processing, approvals, and vendor management
* Monitor cash balances and assist with cash flow management
* Investigate and resolve discrepancies proactively

Real Estate & Investment Accounting

* Track real estate property performance, expenses, and entity-level reporting
* Understand real estate ownership structures, LLCs, and partnership accounting
* Assist with investment tracking, capital calls, distributions, and returns
* Coordinate with external CPAs for tax preparation and year-end reporting

Process Improvement & Controls

* Help implement and improve accounting systems and workflows
* Create scalable SOPs and financial controls
* Support audit, tax, and compliance processes
* Assist leadership with financial analysis and reporting as needed

Qualifications

Required

* 7+ years of accounting or controllership experience
* Strong understanding of multi-entity accounting
* Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks (Online and/or Desktop)
* Experience with ----------
* Strong knowledge of bank reconciliations and double-entry bookkeeping
* Experience preparing financial statements and month-end closes
* High attention to detail and organizational skills
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

Preferred

* Experience in real estate accounting and investment accounting
* Understanding of LLCs, partnerships, and intercompany structures
* Experience supporting entrepreneurs, family offices, or investment firms
* Familiarity with cash flow forecasting and financial modeling
* CPA designation or accounting degree preferred but not required
