Evisory is a Brisbane-based accounting and advisory firm built for the hospitality industry. Our clients are cafés, restaurants, bars and venues – businesses where margins are tight and things move quickly if owners aren’t on top of their numbers.
We’re not a lodgement factory. We work in our clients’ files every day, keep their books current, and give them advice they can actually act on. We’d rather have fewer clients we know well than hundreds we barely talk to.
We’re looking for a Senior Accountant to take ownership of a portfolio of hospitality clients, lead compliance across all entity types, and be the person clients trust when they need a straight answer. You’ll work closely with the Director, review the work of our bookkeeping and accounting team, and help shape how we deliver advisory as the firm grows.
What you’ll do
▪ Prepare and review financial statements and income tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts and partnerships
▪ Review BAS/IAS and oversee payroll compliance, including STP, super and award-based wages
▪ Manage your own client portfolio – be their main point of contact and keep work moving to deadline
▪ Review and coach the work of bookkeepers and junior accountants, and help build our review processes
▪ Deliver practical advisory: cash flow forecasts, budgets, wage and cost-of-goods analysis, restructures and business purchases
▪ Deal with the ATO on clients’ behalf, including payment plans, objections and queries
▪ Help onboard new clients and scope engagements with the Director
What you’ll bring
▪ CA or CPA qualified (or well progressed towards it)
▪ 5 years’ experience in an Australian public practice
▪ Solid working knowledge of tax and compliance across all entity types
▪ Strong Xero skills plus experience with XPM, Dext, Deputy and FoundU
▪ Confidence talking to business owners in plain English and managing your own workload
▪ Experience reviewing others’ work and giving useful feedback
▪ Highly regarded: hospitality client experience, award interpretation, POS integrations, and a registered tax agent pathway
Answer these three questions to be considered:
1. What is your process on compiling EOFY Workpaper?
2. How many years of experience do you have in Australian taxation?
3. Do you also have experience in doing bookkeeping tasks?
