Job Title: Senior Accountant & Accounting Operations Manager (Remote Independent Contractor)

Role Overview

We are looking for a highly organized, self-driven Senior Accountant / Accounting Operations Manager to run our day-to-day financial workflows for our Print-on-Demand business. In this role, you will own our transactional data and independently execute the vast majority of our month-end closing process in QuickBooks Online (plus the company’s proprietary inventory management software) so that it is nearly complete before being handed off to our Controller. Additionally, you will serve as the central traffic controller for our team by managing our offshore Accounts Payable department, staying ahead of all tax deadlines, and taking complete ownership of processing company mail.

You will report directly to our CFO with a dotted line to the Company’s owners.
Schedule & Location: 100% Remote.
You must work California time (Pacific Standard Time) from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a 1-hour break so you can communicate live with the US
team.
After 6 Months: Upon a successful performance review, you have the flexibility to shift your schedule to a split-shift model: 7:00 AM–10:00 AM and 5:00 PM–10:00 PM PST.

Key Responsibilities
Own the Monthly Close: Independently manage the month-end closing process within QuickBooks Online (reconciling accounts, verifying balances, and prepping data). You should be able to get the books 90% of the way there before handing them to the outsourced Controller for final review.
Manage Operational Workflows: Direct, coordinate, and review the daily work of three internal, offshore Accounts Payable (AP) accountants to ensure transactions are accurate, coded correctly, and completed on time.
Proactive Deadline Tracking: Build and maintain an airtight schedule for all local, state, and federal tax deadlines as well as bank covenant requirements.
You must be highly proactive to ensure the company never faces a late filing or penalty.
Mail Operations: Actively manage, sort, and process all incoming digital mail that is sent to you related to compliance, taxes, and vendor billing.
Leadership Collaboration: Act as the main operational contact for our fractional CFO and outsourced Controller, providing them with clean, reliable data and accurate draft reports.
Bookkeeping duties
o Ensure all cash activities are posted to the appropriate activities on a weekly basis with a full reconciliation on a monthly basis back to bank statements
o Ensure all credit card activities are posted to the appropriate activities on a weekly basis with a full reconciliation on monthly basis back to statements
o Management of approval workflows and payment releases for all AP with Owner from Ramp system

Qualifications & Experience
Essentials: QuickBooks Online power user and very strong Excel skills. A CPA license is not required.
Experience: Minimum 8 years experience as a senior bookkeeper and accountant where you were personally responsible for closing books. Traditional manufacturing or inventory-based experience is an important plus (to assist with inventory management and cost accounting), though no specific print-on-demand background is required.
Management Skills: Experience managing or coordinating other accountants, especially offshore or remote tea ---------- mbers.
Work Style: Exceptionally organized, independent, and comfortable working asynchronously with an outsourced executive team.
Fluent English Communication: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills are required. You must be completely comfortable and fluent when explaining financial data to US-based executive leadership, drafting clear emails, and providing direct feedback or instructions to your offshore tea ---------- mbers.

Compensation & Benefits:
Relationship: Independent Contractor
Salary Range: $30,000 to $36,000 Base Salary per year, dependent on experience and qualifications.
