Job description:
Do you know screen printing? Can you look at a sep and tell it’s going to fill in on press?
I run a small US-based art department for screen print shops. Shops send me their art, and I send back press-ready files and mockups. Work is growing, and I need a second set of hands on the production side so turnaround stays fast and quality stays tight.
This is a long-term, part-time role. You’ll work directly with me (Tim, the art director). I’ll guide you on every job and approve every file before it’s done. Nothing goes out until it’s right.
What you’ll do
Build mockups in client-specific templates and in Seddi Decorator
Simple spot color separations in my templates
Simulated process separations
Designs and illustrations built for screen printing and decoration: limited colors, clean vector, made for how the garment actually gets printed
Prep files ready to burn: channels named, trapping set, choke and spread dialed
What you need
Your own Adobe Creative Cloud subscription
Strong working knowledge of Illustrator and Photoshop
Real understanding of screen printing, embroidery, DTF, and decoration. You know why a 12-color design is a problem on a 6-color press, and why fine lines and gradients need extra care for embroidery.
A portfolio that shows separations, not only finished designs
Clear written English and quick replies during work hours
A reliable computer, stable internet, and backup power
At least 3 hours of overlap with US Mountain Time (Colorado) business hours
Nice to have
Experience with Seddi Decorator. I’ll train you on my setup either way.
Experience with index separations
Hand illustration skills. Sketching first is a big plus here.
How the work runs
Jobs come in through a shared tracker with a job ID, a brief, and art files
You build it, I review it, you revise if needed, and then I approve it
Production jobs move fast, usually same or next business day
Pay is $6 to $10 per hour depending on skill and test results, with room to grow as the work grows
How to apply
Use this subject line: Ready to Burn - [Your First Name]
Include:
A portfolio link with at least 3 separation examples. Show the separated channels or plates, not just the mockup.
Which screen print or deco shops you’ve worked for, and what you did there
Your hourly rate within the range above
The hours you’re available, in Philippine time
Shortlisted applicants get a paid test: one spot color sep and one sim-process sep from an art file I’ll send over. Applications without the subject line or separation samples won’t be reviewed.
