1. Position Summary
The Sales Development Representative (SDR) is an entry-level role responsible for outbound prospecting, responding to inbound inquiries, and qualifying prospects against defined criteria for handoff to the Estimating team. This role reports to the Business Development Manager and collaborates closely with Estimating, Operations, and Leadership teams.
Rather than setting appointments, the SDR's primary output is a qualified lead: prospects that meet Estimating & prequalification criteria and are sent forward with complete, accurate context. This role builds foundational sales skills — prospecting, outreach, and qualification discipline — and serves as a developmental path toward the BDR role.
This position is ideal for a motivated, disciplined, and coachable professional who wants to build a career in commercial sales and enjoys the front-line work of identifying and qualifying opportunities with general contractors, developers, and property managers.
2. Core Responsibilities
- Identify and prospect general contractors, developers, property managers, and commercial clients to generate new business opportunities.
- Execute outbound calls,
- Respond to inbound inquiries and qualify prospects against Estimating's prequalification criteria.
- Send qualified leads to Estimating with complete, accurate context for prequalification review.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM records (Zoho preferred) for every lead worked.
- Conduct consistent follow-ups to move prospects through the pipeline toward qualification.
- Research upcoming construction projects, bid opportunities, and industry trends to identify new leads.
- Collaborate with Estimating to ensure a seamless, well-documented lead handoff.
- Incorporate qualification feedback from Estimating to continuously improve lead quality.
- Achieve weekly and monthly lead generation and qualification targets.
- Represent ISAK Fire Protection professionally in client communications and networking events.
3. Required Skills & Qualifications
- 0–2 years of experience in sales, business development, customer service, or the construction/fire protection industry — open to strong entry-level candidates.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Confident in outbound prospecting via phone,
- Self-motivated, disciplined, coachable, and persistent in achieving targets.
- Comfortable qualifying leads against a defined framework (e.g., BANT, MEDDIC, or Estimating's criteria).
- Experience with CRM systems preferred (Zoho preferred); training provided.
- Ability to handle rejection and maintain consistent outreach.

- Knowledge of fire protection, construction, or related technical systems.
- Familiarity with LinkedIn Sales Navigator or other prospecting tools.
- Additional sales or industry certifications.
4. KPIs / Performance Metrics
Volume / Activity
- Number of outbound calls,
- Number of leads worked (inbound plus outbound combined).
Qualification Quality
- Number of leads meeting pre-qualification criteria sent to Estimating.
- Lead-to-qualified ratio — percentage of leads worked that meet criteria and are sent forward.
- Pre-qualification accuracy / rejection rate — percentage of leads Estimating sends back as not meeting criteria.
Speed
- Time from initial contact to qualification decision.
- Response time to inbound inquiries.
Downstream Impact (tracked, not primary)
- Percentage of SDR-qualified leads that Estimating ultimately quotes.
- Percentage of SDR-qualified leads that convert to a won deal (attribution metric for BD Manager reporting).
CRM Hygiene
- CRM data completeness and accuracy on every lead sent to Estimating.
