SUMMARY:
Seeking a seasoned estimator with strong HVAC and mechanical construction experience and a solid understanding of U.S. construction standards and the imperial measurement system. Proficiency in QuoteSoft is a plus. Must be highly detail-oriented and able to collaborate effectively within a team-driven environment.
PURPOSE:
Provide vital support to the Mechanical Estimating Department by ensuring bids are complete and accurate, enabling precise and competitive project quotes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Review HVAC and mechanical plans to quantify job requirements.
2. Prepare detailed take-offs for HVAC mechanical systems using QuoteSoft.
3. Assemble and prepare bid packages by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and other project documents.
4. Analyze labor, material, and equipment costs by studying mechanical drawings and specifications.
5. Calculate total project costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements based on mechanical system requirements.
6. Resolves discrepancies in scope or quantities by researching, clarifying, and coordinating with estimators or project managers.
7. Compile and present estimates with numerical and descriptive detail suitable for internal review and proposal generation.
8. Push clean quantities and scope data into estimating templates and integrate results into BuildOps for project setup.
9. Regularly review and update estimating databases, including assemblies, labor rates, and cost factors.
10. Clean and standardize estimating and planning templates to improve consistency and usability.
11. Collaborate with estimators and project managers to identify data gaps or inefficiencies.
12. Ensure alignment between estimating tools and project planning systems to support smooth transitions from bid to execution.
