ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Journey of Returning (JOR) is a Miami-based marketing and customer acquisition consultancy seeking an exceptionally creative, strategic, and reliable social media professional for a long-term collaboration.
Your primary responsibility will be building the digital presence of The Way In, an emerging consumer app focused on guided self-reflection, emotional awareness, and meaningful self-connection.
We're looking for someone who can help build a brand from zero, understand its audience, establish a recognizable creative identity, and turn compelling content into organic audience growth and eventual app users.
This is not a traditional social media VA or basic posting position.
We want someone who thinks like a brand builder, creates like a designer, understands audience psychology, and can independently execute content from idea to publication.
Depending on your experience and availability, the role may also include publishing and operational support for JOR's existing client accounts.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: THE WAY IN
Full-cycle creative strategy, content production, organic growth, and social media management.
BRAND STRATEGY & ORGANIC GROWTH
Develop and execute an organic social media strategy for a consumer app launching from zero.
Establish content pillars, recurring series, campaigns, and monthly content calendars.
Understand the brand's positioning, audience, emotional value, and competitive landscape.
Identify relevant trends, cultural conversations, and opportunities for organic visibility.
Develop content designed to increase reach, engagement, shares, saves, community growth, and eventual app-user acquisition.
Monitor performance and continually refine creative direction based on results.
CREATIVE DIRECTION & CONTENT DEVELOPMENT
Develop original concepts for Reels, carousels, graphics, Stories, and other social content.
Create compelling hooks, captions, storytelling angles, and visual concepts.
Provide the founder with filming direction, including talking points, suggested shots, creative references, and content ideas.
Transform founder perspectives and authentic experiences into relatable, engaging content.
Develop recognizable content formats that differentiate The Way In from traditional wellness and personal-development brands.
The founder will record the original video footage. You will provide creative direction and handle the editing and production.
GRAPHIC DESIGN & VISUAL BRANDING
Independently design high-quality carousels, static graphics, Stories, and other branded assets.
Translate the existing brand identity into a distinctive, cohesive social media presence.
Create engaging editorial layouts, thoughtful typography, and compelling visual compositions.
Develop repeatable design systems while maintaining creative variety.
Produce original content rather than relying on generic Canva templates.
Our visual direction is elevated, editorial, slightly edgy, ethereal, authentic, and intentionally unconventional.
Think expressive typography, atmospheric imagery, unexpected layouts, artistic visual storytelling, and a contemporary aesthetic that stands out without looking overproduced or artificial.
VIDEO EDITING & PRODUCTION
Edit founder-recorded footage into engaging short-form videos.
Develop attention-grabbing openings and strong storytelling sequences.
Add clean captions, intentional pacing, relevant B-roll, tasteful motion graphics, and appropriate sound design.
Enhance lighting, color, and audio quality.
Repurpose selected footage into different social formats where appropriate.
Create occasional advertising-ready creative variations using existing assets.
Paid advertising setup, media buying, and campaign management are not included.
SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGEMENT & COMMUNITY GROWTH
Schedule and publish approved content across agreed platforms.
Write and optimize captions and platform-specific descriptions.
Monitor and respond to appropriate audience comments and interactions.
Support authentic community building and audience development.
Maintain organized production and publishing calendars.
Provide concise performance updates and strategic recommendations.
EXPECTED MONTHLY DELIVERABLES — THE WAY IN
Approximately 8–10 original feed posts per month, combining:
Founder-recorded, professionally edited Reels

Also included: monthly strategy and creative planning, founder filming briefs, captions, scheduling, publishing, community engagement, and performance review.
Content volume will be planned collaboratively, prioritizing quality, consistency, and sustainable production.
OPTIONAL EXPANDED RESPONSIBILITIES

These responsibilities are included only under Compensation Option B.
