JOB OVERVIEW

ABOUT THE ROLE
We're looking for an experienced Senior Video Editor to join the Clipfluence team.
But we're not looking for someone who can simply follow an edit.
We're looking for someone who can build one.
Someone we can give raw footage, a client brief and an outcome to, and trust them to make the creative decisions needed to turn it into something worth watching.
You'll work across long-form podcasts, premium YouTube videos, short-form content, trailers, promos and educational/business content.
One project might be a two-hour multicamera podcast. The next could be a highly produced YouTube video requiring B-roll, motion graphics and sound design. Then you might need to turn a long conversation into a 60-second trailer or find the strongest short-form moments within an episode.
We need someone who is comfortable doing all of it.
You'll have support and creative direction when needed, but we're hiring at a senior level because we want someone who brings ideas to an edit rather than waits for them.

ABOUT CLIPFLUENCE
Clipfluence is a video and podcast content agency working with businesses, creators and podcasts around the world.
For 7+ years, we've helped clients turn conversations, ideas and raw footage into content people actually want to watch.
We're a small, experienced team that cares deeply about the work we create. We don't believe great editing means adding as many effects, transitions or captions as possible. It's about understanding the content, the audience and what the edit actually needs.
Sometimes that means motion graphics, B-roll, music and sound design.
Sometimes it means knowing when to get out of the way and let a great moment breathe.
Our clients trust us with their content and their brands, and we're looking for another editor who takes that responsibility as seriously as we do.

WHAT YOU'LL BE EDITING
There is no single "Clipfluence style."
Every client is different, and their content should feel like them, not like it came out of the same editing template.
You'll work across:
Long-form multicamera podcasts
Premium and technical YouTube videos
Educational and talking-head content
Podcast trailers and episode promos
Reels, TikToks and YouTube Shorts
Story-driven and emotional content
Business and industry-specific content
B-roll, motion graphics and sound-design-heavy edits
Simpler edits where the content needs room to breathe
Adaptability is a big part of this role.

WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
You'll be expected to take ownership of projects from raw footage through to the finished edit.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Editing long-form podcasts and YouTube videos
- Editing multicamera footage with purposeful angle changes
- Building strong openings, cold opens and episode intros
- Creating podcast trailers and episode promos
- Finding the strongest short-form moments within long recordings
- Making independent decisions around pacing, structure and storytelling
- Identifying where B-roll, graphics or supporting visuals strengthen the content
- Creating motion graphics and animated elements when needed
- Using music and sound design intentionally
- Cleaning audio and colour correcting footage
- Checking captions, spelling, graphics and on-screen text
- Organising projects and exporting content correctly
- Responding to feedback and completing revisions efficiently

Most importantly. You won't always be told exactly what to do. We want you to look at the content, understand what it needs and make creative decisions yourself.

WE DON'T MAKE CLIPS JUST TO MAKE CLIPS
Short-form is an important part of what we do, but we're not a clipping company.
A section of a podcast being 60 seconds long doesn't automatically make it a good Reel.
When selecting content, we want you thinking about the person watching it.
Why would they care about this?
Does it teach them something? Make them think? Make them laugh? Surprise them? Make them feel something? Give them something useful? Make them want to hear more?
You need to be comfortable watching long-form content, identifying the moments that actually matter and understanding why a particular moment deserves to become content. You won't always be handed timestamps. Choosing the right moment is part of the job.

PODCAST TRAILERS & PROMOS:
This is an important skill for this role.
You should be able to watch a conversation, understand what's interesting about it and determine how to make someone want to watch more.
Sometimes that means finding multiple moments throughout an episode and weaving them into a compelling 45–90 second story using pacing, music, sound design and visual editing.
Other times, the content calls for something much simpler.
Good editing isn't about doing the most. It's about knowing what the content needs.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
You can edit without constant direction
We don't want to tell you where every cut goes, what B-roll to use or where to add a graphic.
We'll give you context and feedback, particularly as you learn our clients, but we expect you to creatively solve the edit.
You understand what keeps people interested
We're happy to help refine your storytelling skills, but you should already have a strong instinct for what makes content interesting and what makes an edit drag.
You have strong technical skills
This isn't an entry-level editing position.
You should be comfortable with advanced editing, motion graphics, multicam footage, B-roll, audio, colour and sound design.
You're adaptable
Some projects need high-energy technical editing. Others need restraint.
You should be comfortable with both.
You notice the details
Bad cuts, spelling mistakes, inconsistent graphics, poor audio and sloppy exports shouldn't need someone else to point them out.

EXPERIENCE
Previous professional video editing experience is required.
Podcast-specific experience is valuable, but it isn't mandatory.
We'd rather hire an excellent YouTube editor who understands storytelling, pacing and visual communication than an experienced podcast editor who only knows how to switch camera angles and add captions.
If you've worked across podcasts, YouTube, creator content, educational content, documentaries or story-driven videos, we'd love to see it.

You should be comfortable with:
- Professional long-form editing
- Multicamera projects
- Short-form content
- Motion graphics
- B-roll and visual storytelling
- Audio cleanup and sound design
- Colour correction
- Captions and typography
- Masking, tracking and compositing when needed
- Large 4K files and long-form timelines

We don't care which editing software you use. We care about the finished product.
Your portfolio will ultimately matter more to us than which programs you know or the type of clients you've previously worked with.

Here are 2 examples of the style of content you MUST be able to create:

YouTube style - ----------
Podcast & Trailer style - ----------

THE KIND OF PERSON WE WANT
You care like it's your own
You take pride in what you create and want the finished piece to be something you're proud of.
You're independent
You don't need someone constantly checking what you're doing or telling you what comes next.
You're creative
You bring ideas and solutions rather than simply executing instructions.
You're reliable
If you commit to something, we need to be able to rely on you to deliver it.
You communicate
If you're unsure, ask. If there's a problem, tell us. If something could affect a deadline, communicate it early.
You're detail-oriented
We work with professional businesses and creators. Small mistakes matter, and we expect you to check your own work before submitting it.
You're open to feedback
Every client is different. Feedback and revisions are part of producing great work, and we expect you to handle them professionally.
You communicate clearly in English
Our clients are primarily Australian and American.
Strong written and spoken English is required.

YOUR SETUP
This is a remote position, so you need the equipment and internet connection to do the job properly.
Our projects regularly involve 4K footage, multiple cameras, long recordings, motion graphics and source files that can exceed 100GB.

You'll need:
- A computer capable of handling professional, technical editing
- Reliable high-speed internet
- Enough storage to comfortably manage large projects
- A reliable working environment during agreed hours
- Your computer and internet cannot be a bottleneck to doing the job.

ROLE DETAILS
Position: Senior Video Editor
Location: Remote, Philippines

Working hours: Initially approximately 9:00am–5:00pm Brisbane time, Monday to Friday

Compensation can also be reviewed based on demonstrated performance and contribution to the team.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM US
We expect a lot from our editors, but we don't expect you to figure everything out alone.
You'll be joining an experienced editing team and will have support as you learn our clients, expectations and workflows.

You can expect:
- Clear briefs and client context
- Creative feedback and support
- A variety of projects and editing styles
- Work with established businesses, creators and podcasts
- Opportunities to develop your storytelling and technical skills
- A remote working environment with more flexibility as trust is established

ABOUT WORKING AT CLIPFLUENCE
We're a small team, and we like it that way.
We care about the people we work with, the clients we work for and the content that leaves our hands.
Communication matters. Reliability matters. Quality matters.
And while we take the work seriously, we want Clipfluence to be a genuinely good place to work.
We're looking for someone who wants to become part of the team, learn our clients and create great work consistently rather than simply pick up another freelance editing gig.

HOW TO APPLY
If you've read this and thought "this sounds like me," we'd love to see your work.

Please send us:
- Your CV
- A short introduction about yourself and your professional editing experience
- 3–5 examples of your best work that demonstrate the range of what you can do
