About Digital Trek

Digital Trek is a performance-focused digital marketing agency working primarily with home service and local businesses across Canada and the United States.

We help businesses grow through SEO, Google Ads, website development, content marketing, local SEO, conversion optimization, and AI-powered marketing tools.

We are looking for an SEO Specialist who can take ownership of the day-to-day SEO execution across multiple client accounts.

The Role

As our SEO Specialist, you will be responsible for implementing and managing SEO strategies designed to increase organic visibility, qualified website traffic, and leads.

This is a hands-on role.

You should be comfortable auditing websites, researching keywords, optimizing pages, planning content, working with WordPress, improving Google Business Profiles, monitoring rankings, and identifying technical SEO problems.

You will work closely with our strategy, content, development, and paid advertising teams.

Content & Topical Authority

Tools You Should Know

Experience with several of the following is expected:

Google Search Console
Google Analytics 4
Google Business Profile
SEMrush
Screaming Frog
WordPress
Rank Math or similar SEO plugins
Google Sheets
Looker Studio
AI tools such as ChatGPT

Experience with CallRail, ClickUp, HubSpot, or similar platforms is an advantage.

What We Are Looking For
2+ years of hands-on SEO experience
Strong understanding of technical, on-page, content, and local SEO
Experience working with local businesses
Strong keyword research skills
Comfortable working inside WordPress
Strong attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple client websites
Good written English
Ability to work independently
Comfortable using AI to improve productivity without sacrificing quality

Agency experience is strongly preferred.

Experience with roofing, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pest control, painting, construction, or other home-service businesses is a major advantage.

What Success Looks Like

You will not be evaluated simply on rankings or the number of tasks completed.

Success means:

Growing qualified organic traffic
Increasing leads from organic search
Improving visibility for commercially valuable keywords
Increasing local search visibility
Publishing and improving high-quality SEO content
Identifying SEO problems before clients notice them
Completing work accurately and on schedule
Continuously finding new opportunities for client growth
The Person We Want

We are looking for someone who takes ownership.

If you notice an indexing problem, you investigate it.

If a page loses rankings, you try to understand why.

If competitors are outperforming us, you research what they are doing differently.

If you see an opportunity, you bring it forward.

We value people who think critically, communicate clearly, and focus on measurable business results rather than simply checking SEO tasks off a list.
