We’re looking for a long-term, technically-minded virtual assistant to become the Lead Technical Support person for our educational robotics company, Drone Dojo (

Drone Dojo is a U.S.-based company that teaches people how to build autonomous drones and rovers using open-source tools like Raspberry Pi, Python, Linux, and ArduPilot. You’ll be our go-to person for supporting customers who have purchased our kits or joined our online courses.
This is a rare opportunity to get paid to learn drones and robotics from the ground up. During your onboarding phase, you’ll go through our full curriculum and build your own autonomous drone — with a free $899 kit that we ship to you.
WHAT TO EXPECT-----------------------------------------------------------
Onboarding Phase (First 2 Months):---------------------------------
* Paid at $500/month
* Go through our core courses to learn about drone building, autonomous flight, drone programming, etc
* Build and fly the drone kit we send you
* Learn how our platform works and what customers commonly ask
* Get comfortable with our internal tools, systems, and support documentation
* Expectations after month 1 are that you built the drone, and can fly it manually
* Expectations after month 2 are that you can program the drone to run autonomous missions with python
* Expectations after month 3 are that you can begin assisting with technical customer support, and any technical sales questions our customers may have.
* Continued learning will be required through month 3. We'd like you to eventually know our 50+ hours of curriculum inside and out.
Ongoing Role (After Onboarding):------------------------------------------------------------------
* ~10 hours/week (often times less than this, occasionally more when we get a big customer)
* Provide technical support via
* Help customers troubleshoot drones, sensors, software, flight issues, etc.
* Maintain internal documentation for recurring issues
* Help with technical questions our customers may have during the sales process
* Communicate clearly and kindly with a range of technical skill levels
WHO THIS IS FOR------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
? You have solid working knowledge of Python and Linux (not optional)
? You’re comfortable using the command line, SSH, editing config files, and running/debugging scripts
? You’ve worked with Raspberry Pi, Arduino, or other hardware platforms
? You’re proactive and love breaking down complex tech problems into understandable steps
? You’re an excellent written communicator and very dependable
????? Bonus if you’ve already built a drone, robot, or DIY electronics project
Learning is not optional — it’s part of the job.
To support our customers effectively, you’ll be required to go through the curriculum, build the drone, fly it, and gain proficiency across our core courses. This is how you’ll develop the technical context to help others.
Excelling in this role will open the doors for more opportunities at the Drone Dojo. Once you learn the technology, we can explore additional roles for you.
