At Scribbly Gum Photography, we believe everyone deserves to feel seen.
We create relaxed, story-driven photography experiences for families, newborns, maternity clients and businesses in Australia. Our style is natural and focused on genuine connection while also technically strong.
We're looking for a detail-oriented photo editor who can help us maintain a consistent editing style while freeing up more time to focus on our clients.
This is a remote contractor position with flexible hours. While the workload will vary throughout the year, we anticipate a minimum 2 hours per week, with additional work available during busier periods.
ABOUT THE ROLE
You'll work closely with Rachel to prepare client galleries, ensuring every image reflects the Scribbly Gum style and client experience.
You'll be trusted to work independently while maintaining excellent attention to detail and consistency.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Photo Culling
Cull sessions in Adobe Lightroom
Follow Scribbly Gum culling guidelines to maintain consistency
Photo Editing
Edit RAW files in Adobe Lightroom
Match the established Scribbly Gum editing style
Ensure consistency across each gallery
Deliver edited galleries within agreed turnaround times
Retouching
Perform natural, high-quality retouching where required
Remove temporary blemishes and distractions
Maintain realistic skin texture and authentic results
Follow client-specific retouching requests
Slideshow Creation
Prepare client slideshow presentations using selected images
Ensure images flow naturally and tell a cohesive story
Export in the required format for client delivery
Desirable (but not essential)
DESIRABLE RESPONSIBILITIES
If you have video editing experience, we'd love to hear about it, but it isn't a requirement for this role.
Experience editing video, including:
Short-form social media videos and reels
Longer family films or promotional videos
Colour matching footage
Basic audio editing
Captioning
ABOUT YOU
You'll ideally have:
Strong experience using Adobe Lightroom Classic and Photoshop
Experience culling large galleries efficiently
Excellent attention to detail
Consistent editing style
Natural retouching skills
Good organisational skills
Reliable communication
Ability to meet agreed deadlines
Have worked with portrait, family or newborn photographers
Communicate proactively if you have questions or notice opportunities to improve our workflow
