7 Leaves Cafe is a fast-growing California-based cafe brand with 40+ store locations. Our Store Development team designs and builds spaces that embody our brand — warm, welcoming, and intentional. As we expand our footprint, we are looking for a talented Interior Designer Assistant to support our team with day-to-day design work and help bring new locations to life.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Remote Interior Designer Assistant works alongside our Store Development team to support the planning, design, and execution of interior spaces across all 7 Leaves Cafe locations. You will assist with design concepts, documentation, vendor coordination, and ensuring that every store reflects our brand standards and operational needs.

This is a fully remote, full-time role. You will be expected to work 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Pacific Standard Time (PST) and communicate closely with our U.S.-based team.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
• Develop interior design concepts, sketches, 3D renderings, mood boards, and visual aids for leadership review
• Assist in planning store layouts, furniture placement, finish selections, and decorative elements
• Prepare CAD floor plans, elevations, and design documentation
• Support material selection, procurement coordination, and budget tracking
• Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to ensure design intent is executed correctly
• Review completed projects and recommend solutions for design-related concerns
• Stay current with hospitality and retail design trends
• Support multiple projects simultaneously with organized documentation and on-time delivery
• Ensure all designs comply with ADA requirements and applicable building codes

QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field
• Minimum 3+ years of relevant interior design experience (hospitality, retail, or commercial preferred)
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or equivalent)
• Experience with 3D rendering tools and mood board creation
• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite or similar design tools
• Knowledge of ADA requirements and building codes related to interior design
• Strong visual communication skills — able to present design concepts clearly
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills
• Comfortable working independently in a remote setting
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
• Able to work 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM PST reliably (required)
• Experience with AI design tools (Midjourney, Adobe Firefly, or similar) is a plus

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for someone who is proactive, visually minded, and able to manage multiple projects without losing attention to detail. You should be comfortable communicating asynchronously, asking clarifying questions, and flagging concerns early. You will work closely with our Senior Interior Designer Coordinator and Store Development team — responsiveness and collaboration are key.
