Job Overview:
We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and independent Remote Compliance Specialist to support daily compliance administration and driver operations for a transportation company. This role will work closely with the existing Compliance team to assist drivers and employees, manage operational concerns, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure consistent communication and follow-through.
The ideal candidate has previous administrative experience, strong communication skills, and the confidence to make outbound calls, respond to incoming calls and messages, and ask questions to obtain the information needed to address an issue. Responsibilities include assisting drivers with operational concerns, such as application-related problems or vehicle issues, coordinating the appropriate assistance, documenting communications, and following up until issues are resolved or escalated to the appropriate person.
Candidates with transportation industry experience and familiarity with Electronic Logging Device (ELD) and Transportation Management System (TMS) platforms are preferred but not required. The ideal candidate is technologically savvy, highly organized, responsive, and capable of working independently. Strong initiative, urgency, problem-solving skills, and accountability are essential, as the role requires more than simply identifying a problem or sending a message; the candidate must take action and follow through.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the existing Compliance team with daily administrative and operational tasks.
* Make outbound calls to drivers and employees when follow-up, clarification, or additional information is needed.
* Receive and respond to calls, text messages, and other communications from drivers and employees regarding operational concerns.
* Assist drivers experiencing application-related issues, vehicle problems, or other operational difficulties by identifying and coordinating the appropriate assistance.
* Follow up with drivers, employees, and relevant contacts to ensure that reported concerns are addressed in a timely manner.
* Take initiative in identifying appropriate next steps to resolve issues rather than simply forwarding messages or reporting problems.
* Maintain accurate records of communications, reported concerns, actions taken, and follow-up activities.
* Review information and documentation for accuracy and identify missing or incomplete details that require further action.
* Contact the appropriate individuals to obtain missing information or clarify discrepancies.
* Monitor outstanding concerns and assigned tasks to ensure consistent follow-through.
* Coordinate with the relevant internal personnel or service providers when additional assistance is required.
* Escalate urgent, unresolved, or out-of-scope issues to the appropriate supervisor or designated contact.
* Use computer applications, digital communication tools, and relevant company systems to manage information and complete assigned tasks.
* Learn and follow the client's established compliance procedures, operational workflows, and documentation requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Previous administrative experience is required.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Confidence in making outbound calls and communicating directly with drivers and employees.
* Strong follow-up skills and the ability to maintain consistent communication until an issue is addressed.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Good computer literacy and the ability to navigate digital tools and applications.
* Ability to maintain accurate records, document communications, and organize information.
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify appropriate next steps when handling operational concerns.
* Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage assigned responsibilities without constant supervision.
* Ability to prioritize requests, respond promptly, and recognize when an issue requires escalation.
* Willingness to ask questions and seek clarification when instructions or information are incomplete.
* Ability to work 6 hours per day, 6 days per week, including weekends, subject to the final confirmed schedule.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Previous experience in transportation, trucking, logistics, or driver operations.
* Familiarity with Electronic Logging Device (ELD) systems.
* Familiarity with Transportation Management System (TMS) platforms.
* Previous experience supporting compliance administration, driver coordination, or transportation-related operations.
Note: An NBI or police clearance will be required upon acceptance of the job offer.
