JOB OVERVIEW

Remote Architectural Designer (Contract) – Residential (DADUs + ADUs, USA Projects)

Location: Remote (International candidates welcome)
Job Type: Contract / Ongoing Freelance
Time Zone: Some overlap with Pacific Time (USA) preferred

About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented architectural designer/drafter to support residential projects based in Washington State (USA).

The majority of work will focus on Detached Accessory Dwelling Units (DADUs/ADUs), along with occasional single-family homes, remodels, and additions.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking for consistent remote work with a clear scope and repeatable project types.

Scope of Work
Draft and develop permit-ready drawing sets
Convert sketches/redlines into clean Archicad models and plans
Assist with revisions and permit corrections
Apply redlines and markups efficiently
Organize files and maintain consistent drawing standards
Primarily edit and on occasion produce:
Floor plans
Elevations
Sections
Basic construction details

Required Skills
Strong proficiency in Archicad
Experience producing construction drawings for residential projects
Ability to follow U.S.-style drawing sets and standards
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Good written and verbal communication in English

Preferred Skills
Degree or formal training in Architecture, Architectural Technology, or related field
Experience with U.S. building codes or permitting processes
Familiarity with ADUs/DADUs
Experience with Buildertrend or similar tools
Ability to do basic site plans with zoning interpretation
Strong organizational skills with ability to implement system processes

Important Notes
This is a production-focused role (not high-level design leadership)
You do not need to be licensed
Training on local requirements will be provided, but you must be able to learn and adapt quickly
· Candidates may be asked to complete a short task test (2-4 hours) to demonstrate drafting ability, understanding of permitting and building/zoning codes, and attention to detail.
