Who This Role Is For

Core Responsibilities
1. Payroll Management (Gusto)
Handle Gusto onboarding for new clients
Run payroll accurately and on time
Verify client cash balances before payroll
Flag any issues proactively
2. Monthly Bookkeeping (10+ Clients)
Maintain books in QuickBooks Online and/or Xero
Handle reconciliations and ensure clean financials
Work across multiple industries (primarily consulting)
3. Cleanup & Catch-Up Work
Follow instructions from Accounting Manager
Execute cleanup projects accurately and efficiently
Ask questions when needed—do not guess
4. Client Communication
Coordinate with clients to request missing information
Follow up consistently until tasks are complete
Communicate clearly and professionally

Payroll is run on time, every time—no exceptions
Deadlines are met without follow-up
Issues are raised before they become problems
Work is accurate and requires minimal rework
You communicate proactively with the team
Requirements
Strong experience with:
QuickBooks Online (required)
Gusto payroll (preferred)
Xero (a plus)
Excellent reconciliation skills
Strong attention to detail
Ability to handle multiple clients and deadlines
Clear written and verbal English
