## Who Are We?
Government technology has failed the public for decades, and Americans have been conditioned to expect websites from the 90s, even for the most important civic services.
Kaizen exists to restore citizens' trust in American public services by building technology that actually works. We partner with agencies at every level of government to replace legacy constituent service systems with modern, AI-native software that is worthy of the people they serve. We started in Parks and Recreation, and now we're building towards something much larger, the software layer that powers how Americans access the services their government owes them across all parts of government.
Our platform already reaches 40 million residents across 50+ agencies in 17 states.
Founded in 2022 and based in New York City, Kaizen has raised $35 million from NEA, A16z, Accel, 776, and Carpenter Capital. We're builders, designers, and operators who believe that beautifully designed software isn't a luxury in government, but it's how you earn trust back.
## The Role
As our fractional Recruiting Coordinator, you'll be the operational engine behind a high-touch hiring process. We take candidate experience seriously - every interaction reflects how we operate and we need someone who can keep things moving with precision and warmth. This is a part-time contract role. The right person has done this before, doesn't need a lot of hand-holding, and can plug into an existing recruiting function and immediately reduce friction.
## **What You'll Do**
- Own interview scheduling end-to-end across multiple roles, and interview formats so candidates and interviewers always show up informed and on time
- Keep our ATS (Ashby) clean and current: stage updates, scorecards tracked, nothing falling through cracks
- Be a reliable, warm point of contact for candidates moving through the process - answering questions, managing logistics, and making the experience feel human
- Partner closely with our Recruiting Lead to keep pipelines moving and flag anything that's stalling
- Spot and flag process gaps and suggest improvements when you see them
## **What You Bring**
- 1+ years of recruiting coordination or interview scheduling experience, ideally in a startup or fast-moving environment
- Ashby experience is a strong plus
- Clear, professional, and human communications - candidates should feel cared for, not processed
- You can operate with autonomy and you don't need daily check-ins to stay on track
- Comfortable with ambiguity and a process that's still being built
## **Hours & Structure**
Roughly 10 - 15 hours per week. Flexible on schedule, but responsive turnarounds matter - we move quickly and expect coordination to keep pace.
