We are an active residential developer and construction company based in the Northeast U.S. We build and sell homes.
You must understand how money moves through a development deal — from land acquisition through construction draws to closing. If you've never worked with a builder, developer, or construction company, do not apply.
**This role requires judgment on:**
- Job costing across multiple active construction projects
- Construction draw reconciliation and lender reporting
- Capitalizing hard and soft costs into the basis of each property
- Correctly booking land acquisition, closing costs, and carrying costs
- Revenue recognition on home sales and lot closings
- Accounts payable across multiple vendor relationships and entities
- Tracking costs by project across multiple LLCs simultaneously
- Distinguishing between operating expenses and project costs
**Mandatory application test:**
- How do you track construction costs across multiple projects in QuickBooks?
- What costs get capitalized into the basis of a property under development?
- How do you handle a draw request from a lender — what does the accounting look like?
- How do you book the sale of a newly constructed home?
- How do you manage AP across multiple entity LLCs with shared vendors?
**We will reject applicants who:**
- Have never worked with a builder or developer
- Cannot explain job costing
- Don't understand construction draws
- Send generic responses

**Final note:**
This role sits between bookkeeper and controller. You'll be working directly with ownership across active construction projects. If you're sharp, organized, and understand how development deals work financially, we pay well and we're a long term opportunity.
