Read this before applying - it will save us both time.
We're not hiring a virtual assistant who works from a task list. We're hiring one person we can hand an OUTCOME to - "keep the Etsy shops selling," "get our music app in front of more families" - who then goes and makes it happen. If you are not proactive, eager to learn and a go-getter please do not apply.
Most of this job is figuring out the how. We'll tell you what needs to be true; we don't always tell you the steps, because we expect you to be proactive and take more off our plate. If that sounds energizing, read on. If it sounds stressful, this genuinely isn't the right role and we'd rather you skip it.
ABOUT US
MMC Media is a small US-based company - the owner plus five people. We run three things:
- A family-safe music streaming app. 5,000+ original songs across 22 genres: pop, rock, country, hip-hop, R&B, electronic, folk, indie and more. Built for parents who want their kids listening to real, current-sounding music without explicit content. It's a mainstream catalog - pop-forward, not a religious app. (We'll tell you the name when we talk.)
- Etsy shops. Digital printables and downloads. Needs attention every single day (about 1 hour).
- Social and content. Several accounts across Pinterest, TikTok, Instagram,
Honest about our stage: the app is live with real users but early on revenue. You'd be joining to help build something, not to maintain a machine that already runs. Systems are half-built, some things are messy, and you'll often be the first person to do a given task. If you want a large, stable, fully-documented company, you'd be unhappy here. Our other businesses are stable and have more consistent processes and revenue.
WHAT YOU'D OWN
App growth (primary)
- Social content: planning, scheduling and publishing across our accounts - then reading what actually worked and changing the plan because of it.
- Customer support for app users - fast responses, spotting recurring complaints, telling us what you're seeing.
- Launch and campaign support: getting things out the door on time.
Etsy shops (live revenue - this can't slip)
- Customer messages answered every day, without exception.
- Promotions and sales running continuously.
- Listing SEO, publishing new products, watching which listings earn and which don't.
- Keyword research to help us find new listing.
- Using our AI processes to help create new products and listings
AI-driven operations
- Use AI daily - and improve how the work gets done, not just do it faster.
- Bring us new tools and workflows. Part of this job is staying current and telling US what changed.
Reporting
- One brief written report of what you accomplished that day.
Later - not at the start
- This role has the potential to grow into coordinating one or two other people as we grow. That's the direction, not your first-months job, and we won't pretend otherwise. You should have leadership skills as we hope this role will grow into something more.
THE DETAILS
- Full-time, 40 hours/week, long-term.
- Starting at $500/month. Raises here come from results, not from time served - people who deliver have earned multiple increases. If you're asking for more than $500, apply anyway and tell us your number and why. We'd rather talk about it than miss the right person over a starting figure.
- Based in the Philippines, with flexibility to overlap U.S. Mountain Time occasionally for a call.
- We use TeamLogger for time tracking.
- Flexible schedule - days, nights, spread out, weekends. As long as you are consistently working throughout the week and turning in meaningful work.
- PTO after 6 months full-time.
- Paid time to learn. Training happens on the clock.
WHAT WE'RE LIKE TO WORK FOR
- We train people properly and pay for the time it takes.
- We give direct, specific feedback - you'll always know where you stand.
- We're accommodating with real life when you communicate with us. We've carried people through hard stretches. What we can't work with is disappearing.
HOW TO APPLY
Apply through the form here:
Please don't send a separate cover letter - we won't read one. The form is what we read.
A couple of the questions ask you to go look at something before you answer them. Please actually do that part. Those answers matter far more to us than a polished resume, and they're what we read first.
What happens after you apply:
1. We read every application.
2. Shortlisted candidates send us a short recorded intro (about 2 minutes) or hop on a quick call - we want to hear how you explain things, since this role involves calls.
3. Finalists do a paid test project - real work, paid at your rate. That's where we both find out whether this fits.
We know applying takes real time. We'll get back to you either way.
