About the Role
Atma Group is a growing CFO advisory firm serving founder-led US businesses ($5M–$100M revenue) — we provide the kind of investor-grade financial leadership normally reserved for private equity-backed companies. As we scale, we're building out our offshore accounting bench and looking for an experienced, QuickBooks Certified Online (QBO) accountants with experience in managing month-end close process for our US SMB clients. This is not just a data-entry role — we need coding support, someone who understands GAAP-based accrual accounting, can independently drive a close and client QBO accounting and takes ownership of accuracy and timeliness. This is a great opportunity to grow with a firm scaling its accounting operations from the ground up.
What You'll Do
Perform full month-end close in QuickBooks Online for multiple US SMB clients
Develop, maintain, and follow a standardized month-end close checklist (account reconciliations, accruals, prepaids, depreciation, AR/AP cutoffs, etc.)
Reconcile bank, credit card, and balance sheet accounts to zero variance
Prepare accurate, GAAP-compliant financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
Code and identify and correct discrepancies, miscoded transactions, and out-of-balance entries
Maintain clean, audit-ready books that support downstream financial reporting and analysis
Communicate close status, blockers, and questions proactively — we need someone who flags issues, not just files them away
