As we continue to grow across New Zealand, we are looking for a highly organised, detail-focused Virtual Quantity Surveyor based in the Philippines to join our remote support team.
This role will work closely alongside our in-house New Zealand-based Quantity Surveyor, helping to prepare accurate estimates, review plans, and support the pricing process across a range of projects.
About the Role
As our Virtual Quantity Surveyor, you will play an important support role in our estimating and pricing workflow. You will be responsible for reviewing plans and documentation, completing take-offs, and assisting with the preparation of accurate cost estimates for painting and decorating projects.
You will work directly with our in-house QS in New Zealand, as well as our wider operations and admin team, to help ensure tenders and quotes are completed accurately and on time.
Key Responsibilities
Review architectural drawings, specifications, and tender documents
Complete quantity take-offs from plans provided
Assist in preparing accurate cost estimates and pricing schedules
Support the in-house QS with tender submissions and quote preparation
Help build detailed job budgets and scope summaries
Liaise with internal tea
Ensure estimates are completed in line with company standards and deadlines
Maintain organised records of estimates, take-offs, and supporting documents
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar
2+ years’ experience in quantity surveying, estimating, or take-offs preferred
Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Strong written and verbal English communication skills
Ability to work independently while also collaborating closely with a remote team
Reliable internet connection and suitable home office setup
Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines
Preferred / Advantageous
Experience in painting, construction, fit-out, or maintenance estimating
Familiarity with New Zealand or Australian construction terminology
Experience using take-off / estimating software such as CostX, PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or similar
Experience using Excel for pricing and cost breakdowns
Please note: Access to your own take-off / estimating software is preferred.
