Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Development Project Manager to oversee and drive the successful delivery of software projects in a fully remote environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of technical knowledge, project management expertise, and excellent communication skills. This role involves coordinating cross-functional teams, managing timelines, and ensuring that all project objectives are met while maintaining high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Execution:
Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets.
Oversee the end-to-end project lifecycle, ensuring milestones are achieved on schedule.
Team Coordination and Leadership:
Facilitate communication and collaboration across remote software development teams.
Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring clarity and alignment.
Monitor team performance and provide guidance to ensure productivity and quality.
Risk Management and Problem Solving:
Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Address project challenges and roadblocks promptly to maintain progress.
Ensure issues are escalated and resolved effectively.
Stakeholder Management:
Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress.
Gather and prioritize requirements from clients and other stakeholders.
Manage expectations and maintain strong relationships with all involved parties.
Process Improvement:
Implement best practices in agile or other project management methodologies.
Continuously evaluate project workflows and propose improvements to enhance efficiency.
Drive a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the project team.
Reporting and Documentation:
Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including plans, reports, and user stories.
Track and report on project performance metrics, including scope, schedule, and budget adherence.
Prepare post-project evaluations to capture lessons learned and recommend future improvements.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Project Manager in software development projects, ideally in a remote setting.
Experience with Agile, Scrum, or other project management frameworks.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong understanding of software development processes and technologies.
Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, Asana, Monday.com).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to lead remote teams and manage stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Certifications (Preferred):
Project Management Professional (PMP)
Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)
Work Environment:
Fully remote role with flexibility to work across global time zones as needed.
