We're hiring a Project Estimator to build takeoffs, cost estimates, and bid packages for U.S.-based general contractors, specialty contractors, and design-build firms.
This is a numbers role. You'll quantify materials, calculate labor, price assemblies, and build the estimates that determine whether your client wins work and protects margins. Accuracy and speed are both non-negotiable.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Perform material takeoffs from construction drawings, plans, and specifications
Build detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor scopes
Prepare bid packages, proposals, and estimate summaries for submission
Analyze subcontractor and vendor quotes for completeness and competitiveness
Maintain and update cost databases, unit pricing, and historical project data
Review plans and specs to identify scope gaps, exclusions, and risk items
Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, and vendors during the estimating process
Support preconstruction planning with budget estimates and value engineering options
TOOLS YOU SHOULD KNOW (some or all):
-PlanSwift
-Bluebeam Revu
-RSMeans or similar cost data references
-Excel/Google Sheets (advanced: formulas, pivot tables, cost modeling)
-Buildertrend or similar construction management platforms
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
-2+ years of experience in construction estimating, quantity surveying, or preconstruction support
-Strong proficiency in digital takeoff tools (PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or similar)
-Demonstrated ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
-Understanding of U.S. construction methods, CSI divisions, and trade scopes
-Strong math and analytical skills; you catch errors before they become expensive
-Experience estimating residential, commercial, or specialty trade projects
-Strong written English communication for coordinating with U.S.-based teams
-You're detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and can manage multiple bids simultaneously
-You're comfortable working U.S. business hours (aligned with your client's time zone)
-Stable internet connection and a professional remote work setup
