Company Description
RPM Pickleball was founded by a team of athletes, engineers, and relentless competitors obsessed with pushing the limits of performance. Frustrated by gear that couldn’t keep up, we built what we wished existed: pro-level paddles forged from cutting-edge materials, shaped by science, and tested by the best. Our founders aren’t just product designers—they’re innovators on a mission to give players everywhere the edge they deserve. At RPM, we sell pickleball paddles and a limited line of apparel. We seek to expand both departments as we grow bigger.
About the Role
We’re looking for a talented Product Designer to help shape the future of RPM Pickleball. This role is hands-on and creative, focused on designing pickleball paddles as well as complementary gear including sports bags, apparel, and accessories.
You’ll work closely with leadership, manufacturing partners, and marketing to bring products from concept to production—balancing performance, aesthetics, and brand identity.
What You’ll Do
Product Design & Development
- Design pickleball paddles, including graphics, materials, finishes, and performance-driven details
- Design sports bags, backpacks, duffels, apparel, and on-court accessories
- Create sketches, concepts, mood boards, and production-ready design files
- Research materials, trends, and performance innovations in sports and lifestyle proves
- Collaborate with factories and suppliers to refine designs and ensure manufacturability
Brand & Creative Collaboration
- Maintain a cohesive RPM Pickleball visual identity across all products
- Partner with marketing on product launches, visuals, and storytelling
- Support packaging, labeling, and presentation of finished products
Production & Execution
- Prepare tech packs, specs, colorways, and material callouts
- Review samples, prototypes, and revisions
- Ensure quality, consistency, and performance standards are met
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in product design (sports equipment, apparel, bags, or consumer goods preferred)
- Strong portfolio showcasing physical products (not just digital design)
- Experience designing performance-oriented products
- Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Illustrator, or similar
- Strong understanding of materials, construction, and manufacturing processes
Nice to Have
- Experience designing sports equipment or hard goods
- Knowledge of pickleball, tennis, or related sports
- Experience working with overseas manufacturers
- Background in apparel or soft goods design
Why RPM Pickleball
- Help shape a fast-growing brand in one of the fastest-growing sports
- Creative ownership and real influence over product direction
- Work on products that athletes actually use and love
- Opportunity to grow with the brand as it scales
