JOB OVERVIEW

About the Role
We are looking for a Product Designer to be the first dedicated design hire at Longshot, a prediction market focused on deep liquidity and user experience. You will work directly with the founders to build the product experience from the ground up, owning everything from initial ideation to production-ready specs.
What You'll Do
Own the core product experience
You'll be the design voice for Longshot's most critical surfaces, including the trading and markets pages where users place predictions, and the onboarding flows that turn new visitors into active traders. You'll think in real interactions: order states, loading behaviors, edge cases, empty states, and the small ---------- nts that make a product feel trustworthy rather than thrown together.
Build and evolve the design system
You will take ownership of a design system that has some initial components, but is still in development. You will walk through what already exists, establish component standards, define tokens, and build a library that scales as the product grows. Your system will be the foundation that lets the rest of the team ship faster without losing consistency.
Drive ideation to handoff
You will be in the room from the earliest conversations through to engineering handoff. That means contributing to requirements discussions, iterating quickly on concepts, producing clean Figma files with clear components and annotations, and providing clarifications as engineers perform wiring.
Think like an owner
You'll have bi-weekly design reviews directly with the founders and a seat at the table on product decisions. We want someone who voices their opinions when something doesn't serve the user and measures success by the look of the final product.
Drive decisions related to graphic, branding, and marketing assets
Longshot's visual identity doesn't stop at the app. You'll own how we look everywhere else too: the marketing site, brand assets, graphics, all of it. Same care, same eye, same standards as the product. When something looks off, you'll catch it. And you'll fix it.
What We're Looking For
You have 1 to 4 years of experience as a product or UX designer, ideally at a startup. You're deeply comfortable in Figma. You use AI tools to naturally complement your workflow, but major decisions are still driven by your thinking. You have strong interaction design instincts and think in systems and flows, not just individual screens. You are intrinsically motivated and thrive in a remote environment.
Bonus points if you have
Prior exposure to crypto, consumer-facing applications, and/or gaming interfaces
Experience building or contributing to a design system early on
Some background in user research or usability testing
An eye for motion and microinteractions that make dense UIs feel alive
What success looks like
In your first few months, you'll have continued to maintain the design system, owned end-to-end design for at least two major product surfaces, and built a design rhythm with the founding team that keeps quality high as we move quickly. Over time, you'll become the design standard-bearer for Longshot, and as the team grows, you'll help define what great design looks like.
What We Offer
Meaningful ownership with significant equity as the first design hire
Direct access to founders with a real voice in product direction from day one
A fully remote, high-trust environment where you own your work
Real impact: your designs ship to real users quickly
