Press Release Sales Representative
About EasyNative
EasyNative is a digital media and content marketing company that helps businesses increase their online visibility through professional press release publishing and media distribution services. We work with clients across various industries to secure online news coverage, enhance brand credibility, and strengthen their digital presence.
About the Role
We are a digital advertising agency operating a network of media publishers, several of which offer paid press release distribution and publication services. We are looking for a Business Development Manager to sit between supply and demand: sourcing paid press release demand from companies, brands, and PR agencies, and matching it to our publisher network's distribution capacity.
This is a revenue-driving, relationship-led role. You will own the full sales cycle — prospecting, pitching, negotiating, and closing — for paid press release placements, and build a repeatable pipeline of recurring buyers. Success means consistently filling our publishers' paid release inventory with quality, paying clients.
Key Responsibilities
* Identify and pursue demand for paid press release placement from corporate communications teams, marketing departments, in-house PR functions, and external PR/communications agencies.
* Build and manage a pipeline of prospective buyers, from cold outreach through to closed, recurring business.
* Act as the commercial bridge between demand (clients/agencies) and supply (our publisher network), packaging distribution options, reach, and pricing into clear offers.
* Negotiate rates, volume deals, and retainer or bulk arrangements that maximize fill rate and margin across the publisher network.
* Develop and maintain long-term relationships with repeat buyers, especially PR agencies placing releases on behalf of multiple clients.
*Understand each publisher's audience, reach, SEO value, and editorial guidelines well enough to advise clients on the right placement.
* Track market pricing, competitor offerings (wire services, syndication networks, sponsored content platforms), and demand trends to keep our offering competitive.
* Coordinate with publisher and operations teams to confirm capacity, turnaround times, and delivery, ensuring placements run smoothly post-sale.
* Maintain accurate records of leads, deals, and forecasts in the CRM, and report on pipeline and revenue against targets.
Requirements:
Experience
* 3–5 years in business development, media/ad sales, or PR/communications sales — ideally involving press release distribution, sponsored content, native advertising, or syndication.
* Demonstrated track record of sourcing demand and closing deals against revenue targets.
* Existing relationships with, or proven ability to break into, corporate comms teams and PR/communications agencies is a strong advantage.
Knowledge & Skills
* Solid understanding of the press release ecosystem: how releases are written, distributed, and valued, and how digital publishers monetize them.
*Familiarity with wire services and distribution platforms (e.g., PR Newswire, Business Wire, EIN Presswire) and how paid publisher placement compares.
*Working knowledge of digital media metrics — reach, traffic, domain authority/SEO value, sponsored vs. editorial content — enough to credibly position inventory.
*Strong consultative selling, negotiation, and closing skills.
*Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable pitching to both marketers and senior comms leaders.
* Organized and CRM-disciplined (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar), with the ability to forecast a pipeline accurately.
Attributes
* Self-starter who can build a pipeline from scratch and operate with autonomy.
* Comfortable in a middleman/marketplace model, balancing client needs with publisher capacity and margin.
* Results-oriented and resilient with outbound prospecting.
Nice to Have
* An established book of PR agency or corporate communications contacts.
* Experience selling into or working within a publisher network or media agency.
* Understanding of SEO and link-building considerations relevant to paid press releases.
* Additional language(s) relevant to target markets.
Validation
This role begins with a 1-month validation period. Once the manager demonstrates the ability to close recurring deals during this period, we will offer either a base salary increase or additional performance-based compensation, structured to reflect the value of the recurring revenue secured.
Compensation
* Basic Salary: US$400 per month
* Plus Commissions and Incentives
