Champion Injury Attorneys is a growing California pre-litigation personal injury law firm focused on client service, organization, and results. We are looking for an experienced Pre-Litigation Medical Records and Liens Specialist to help move cases efficiently toward settlement. This role is critical to helping move cases efficiently toward settlement.
Must be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of exercising sound judgment independently.
The ideal candidate already understands how personal injury cases work and knows how to follow through without constant supervision. We are looking for someone organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of thinking critically.
Requirements
Must have at least 1 year of experience working in a personal injury law firm.
Experience handling the following is strongly preferred:
• Review medical records, reports, billing, and lien documentation carefully and alert the case manager or attorney to inconsistencies, missing information, questionable treatment patterns, causation concerns, or anything that appears unusual or requires further review.
• Must have strong attention to detail and the ability to think critically when reviewing medical records, billing, and supporting documentation.

• Medicare and Medi Cal lien resolution
• DHCS lien requests and reductions
• ERISA lien negotiation
• Kaiser lien handling
• Hospital liens
• Health insurance lien releases
• Demand preparation support
• Insurance claim setup and communication
Responsibilities:
Retrieve, organize, and follow up on medical records, medical bills, and lien documentation.
Handle DHCS requests, Medicare liens, Medi Cal liens, ERISA liens, Kaiser liens, hospital liens, and other health insurance reimbursement claims from start to finish.
Negotiate lien reductions and obtain final lien releases.
Assist with preparation of settlement demands and supporting documentation.
Organize and clean up documents inside Filevine.
Rename documents properly and save them into the correct Filevine folders.
Manage medical records, data entry, and provide timely updates to attorneys and staff.
Open insurance claims and communicate with insurance adjusters as needed.
Send Letters of Representation.
Request TCR reports and perform investigation searches when necessary.
Maintain accurate case notes and follow up consistently until tasks are completed.
Exercise good judgment and common sense in handling files and deadlines.
Qualifications
• Must possess a critical and analytical mindset when reviewing medical records, bills, liens, and supporting documents, including the ability to identify inconsistencies, red flags, treatment gaps, questionable entries, or issues that may impact case value or credibility.
• Prior experience in California personal injury law preferred
• Familiarity with Filevine strongly preferred
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills
