ABOUT THE PODCAST
Courageous Ones is a long-form personal development podcast hosted by Tenzin Lhoden. The show features honest conversations about courage, mindset, identity, entrepreneurship, and personal transformation.
I publish one 60–90+ minute episode each week.
THE ROLE
I am looking for one dependable podcast video editor for a long-term working relationship.
Episodes are recorded remotely through Riverside. Your job is to turn each recording into a clean full-length episode, a strong opening hook, and engaging short-form clips.
The editing style should feel professional, natural, and emotionally engaging. I do not want unnecessary effects or distracting transitions.
WEEKLY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Edit one full podcast episode from Riverside
- Create a 30–75 second opening hook using the strongest highlights
- Add clean text to emphasize important lines
- Remove mistakes, repeated sections, technical problems, excessive pauses, and unnecessary filler
- Improve the pacing while preserving the natural conversation
- Clean, balance, and enhance the audio
- Apply basic color correction where needed
- Add the supplied intro, outro, logo, and guest information
- Find seven strong moments for short-form content
- Edit seven vertical clips under 60 seconds
- Add accurate, readable captions
- Format clips for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts
- Keep project files and exports clearly organized
- Complete reasonable revisions after feedback
THE OPENING HOOK
This is one of the most important parts of the role.
The hook should use the most emotional, surprising, vulnerable, or thought-provoking moments from the episode. It should create curiosity without using misleading context or excessive effects.
I will provide examples showing the direction I want.
AI TOOLS ARE ENCOURAGED
I use AI in my own workflow and encourage you to use it too.
Riverside Magic Clips, Adobe Podcast, Opus Clip, Descript, Captions, ChatGPT, and similar tools are welcome.
AI should support your work. You remain responsible for checking context, caption accuracy, pacing, and final quality.
REQUIREMENTS
- Experience editing video podcasts, interviews, or talking-head content
- A portfolio showing long-form and short-form work
- Strong English comprehension
- Experience with Riverside recordings
- Experience with Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut Desktop, or similar software
- Strong judgment around hooks, storytelling, pacing, and viewer retention
- Reliable internet and a computer suitable for editing large video files
- Clear communication and dependable weekly delivery
- Openness to feedback
Future episodes will also include in-person, multicamera recordings. Experience with this format is a bonus.
PAID TEST
Shortlisted applicants will receive a small paid editing test.
You will edit a short opening hook and one vertical clip from real podcast footage. This will help me evaluate your storytelling, pacing, captions, sound, and attention to detail.
